AVOID

They try to grab every penny they can and have zero loyalty to customers. The app is truly awful and shouldn’t even be on the App Store. Ann Jacobus just explained their business model to me as they try to grab as many subscriptions for one car hoping loyal customers give them back so they can make more money on the down payments. This company won’t last till the end of the year, terrible way to do business.

Buyer Beware When you Try to Cancel

Had a fairly good experience for almost 2 years although start up costs were way too high. But after cancelling subscription and returning the car, they continue to charge the monthly fee and keep your deposit. Attorney General has complaints about their credit card fraud. Stay away.

Good product bad app

I’ve been using autonomy for almost two years now, and I love the concept and the product. However, the app is just awful. It kicks you out all the time and treats you like a new user. Now, it shows me “permission denied” when I try to login in. Almost every month I’m getting messages that there’s an issue with a payment on their end, and the app keeps showing errors. It’s been going on for the whole time I’ve used it. I work in tech, and I design products with tech teams. This looks to me very bad as far as UX goes and just the fact that every month there’s an issue makes me very disappointed as a customer.

This subscription service has a extremely high startup cost. If you’re planning on renting a Tesla for a few months, stay far away from this service. It only makes sense if youre planning on keeping it for a year or more, but even then, very high to start. After I picked up the Tesla, I noticed air was slowly leaking from one of the tires and had to keep re-inflating it every few days. I took it to a tire repair shop because Autonomy said it’s not covered over warranty because it’s possible that I just ran something over after I picked up the car. It’s not 100% confirmed that I ran it over or if it came like that, so I had to pay $300 out of pocket to get it repaired. Cost breakdown: It was almost $2500 to start, and $1200 every month with the plan i chose and with the plan to keep it for a few months to a year but i had issues storing it and even though I had a wall charger at home, it was hard charging it with the other cars at my house, so I dropped it off early. I did learn that I need a model Y and I also bought a J1772 extension cord to make it work. The guy who I picked up the Tesla from was not a trustworthy guy. He made me very uncomfortable and at one point, was very condescending when answering my questions about the vehicle. The app itself was glitchy when viewing registration and insurance info. It needed to have my location all the time for it work, which was weird. It was not very helpful except showing me when my next payment was due. On the topic of customer service, every single time I called Autonomy, they never answered. I had to leave several voicemails and only remember getting a call back once. I tried texting the guy who I got the car from, took a day to respond. I dropped off the car on July 11th and today I got a message that said my Apple Card was charged at a supercharger. So they continued to use my card to charge the car after I had disconnected from it. I called them and someone transferred me to their billing department. The guy said he would refund me the amount and remove my card from the Tesla car. Now I’m waiting for the refund. Overall, they failed at every step. I had a horrible experience. Stay far away from this service.

They Overpromise, but truly under deliver

For starters, the app gives you big hopes and promises of you qualifying for a autonomy subscription, but in reality you got to have Super premium credit score, and a bunch of other requirements that need to fall in what they there metrics. Just go directly with Tesla, this didn’t make any sense to me! hence ~I have perfect credit score. Somehow they still turned me down my down.

Amazing concept. Even better customer service

App sends a login link to your phone number which doesn’t work. Tried it multiple times. It also sent a six digit login code which also didn’t work.
