AutoProtect’s brilliant app lets you register new claims for SMART, alloy wheel insurance, GAP insurance and tyre insurance. It even allows you to cancel an agreement (although we hope you don’t have a need to use that bit). All this can be done all day, every day; even if our offices are closed. Enter the relevant information, upload documents or photos and submit – what could be simpler? One of our lovely people in the Claims Team will then review everything on the next working day and get back to you to let you know what the next step will be. The app constantly crashes and doesn’t recognise the 6 digit authentication code when it is sent. I’ve had to email customer support to make changes to the policy.

Was advised to submit a claim through this app, I can’t even get passed the first stage! “Are you the policy holder” - yes! #CRASH! And the app just shuts down! Really poor service so for something “so simple” I’m now having to go through the car company direct!

Tried to cancel GAP insurance using app, as both automated phone call and website suggest, but the app doesn’t work.  Tried other ways to contact but no joy.  Useless!!!

I’ve just bought a new car so wanted to cancel my existing GAP insurance. Won’t let me cancel and can’t get to speak to anyone. Won’t be using them for my new car GAP insurance.

Both the app and the company are totally useless. I wish I had never been introduced to them. I’ve paid over £300 for gap insurance but the app doesn’t accept I exist.

Trying to set up app on phone.  Downloads ok but stall when verification of needed - very frustrating for ‘an easy to use’ app.

I must say that I have  used the Smart Protect Service  in the past and would recommend it. That said, they should fire this  app developer because it is not fit for purpose. The app will not provide  available repair dates. To further frustrate the customer, the call centre automated response refers back to the app. I cheated and got to speak to somebody through accounts, the process is that someone will contact in three working days offering repair dates😃
