Avalanche Safety App crowd sources a potential rescue operation making it a valuable companion in case of an avalanche or another missing person scenario.

The app adds an extra layer of safety for backcountry days by helping you stay discoverable, share location when it matters, and break through silence with life-safety alerts.

Turn on Active Mode when you head out to:
- Share your location to help teammates coordinate and respond faster
- Use nearby discovery to help find people when visibility is low and time matters
- Receive critical alerts—even through Silent or Focus (with Critical Alerts enabled)

- Active Mode: broadcast your “I’m out here” status and keep your position updated for your team
- Start Search: quickly begin searching and switch into “find nearby user” workflows
- Emergency alerts: get urgent notifications designed for high-stakes situations
- Bluetooth + Location assisted discovery: built for scenarios where proximity matters
- Simple onboarding: Sign in with Apple and set a nickname/alias in seconds

Concerning subscription for Avalanche Safety App:
The app requires you to buy a subscription. This means the following: A subscription period is 1 year with a 14 day free trial. After the free trial ends you will pay for 1 year of ASFTYAPP access. During this period you will have full access to the content and functionality of the app. This subscription automatically renews after 1 year unless auto-renewal is turned off from your iTunes Account. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings after purchase..
