Is Avion Rewards free?
Yes, Avion Rewards is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Avion Rewards legit?
⚠️ The Avion Rewards app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I have to use this app to redeem my Avion points - I wish I didn’t have to!! Firstly, even though I’m logged onto the app, it randomly makes me log in again through my bank login and then it shows a blank Travel screen. So I have to shut down the app and start over.
Second, the app has no history of my recent searches, so I have to start over and over again with my dates, From and To cities, etc., each time I research flights or vary dates. A simple search history would hugely improve usability.
Thirdly, the session times out very quickly, if I’ve just switched to something else for a short time, I’m logged out and have to start over!
I hope someone reads this and actually makes the app more usable, as I’m stuck with it for now.

RBC seems to live in a rarified world far removed from the reality of its customers. I have provided clear suggestions in my review above and the RBC “developers” have the gall to tell me to call their “Digital Banking Advisers” to tell them my suggestions!! Seriously??? What arrogance!! Come down to planet Earth RBC!!! And make the app actually usable. I doubt the developers and anyone in RBC actually use their crappy apps. Yes - even the RBC mobile app is terrible - but that’s another story.
Awful user experience
The app never remembers my password and there’s always so many loops I need to go through just to sign in! For instance, it’s not synched to my RBC banking app so I can’t even use that route to sign in. The other way is by entering your email address , then first and last name, yet it says “user profile not found”. I’ve used the app before so I’m definitely a user.
Honestly, it’s so ridiculous how this company makes so much money yet they can’t afford anyone who’s competent in IT to fix their issues. I’m so close to signing up with AMEX instead since they have a better points system and seem to hire people that know how to develop an app.
Quite possibly the worst app from a major company on the App Store
It is unbelievable how bad this app is. Menus don’t work correctly. Random errors regularly, that totally disrupt your travel bookings…it’s almost as if RBC couldn’t care less…
Unusable for Travel
It is impossible to use this app for travel rewards, which negates the entire point of having an app.
To even get into the travel section, the app requires you to sign into RBC online banking through an imbedded browser. Then you need to verify it’s you through the RBC mobile app. This browser must clear the cache after every session, because it won’t remember my card number or that I’ve authorized the app and so requires the same verification process every time.
Now that you’ve logged into RBC online banking through the RBC Avion app (which in itself is insanity), the screen is blank. There are no options to click on, nothing to do. Click the back button and you’re logged out of online banking and need to do it all again.
Such a terrible app. I wish I could give negative stars. Clearly there is no developers working on this, as I see similar reviews from two years ago.
This app should be fixed or removed from the App Store, and whoever has allowed this POS to continue should be fired from RBC immediately and replaced with someone competent.
Logging In
Can’t log in. Keeps asking me to “Please enter a password”
Tried reinstalling app, same issue. I’m using a password manager with a 32 char. password. It autofills the password. Give it a try in your test environment.
Very unreliable!
No single-sign on from the RBC APP menu link. It will repeatedly ask you to sign in and will bring you back to the login of RBC and you have to put in your bank card number.
Once you have successfully logged in after multiple log ins, the travel page where you will have to search doesn’t work. If by chance it worked and you will then redeem your rewards, it will time you out due to inactivity.
I am travelling and trying to
redeem points for hotel stays - it just didn’t work.
Clunky
Asks you to sign into online banking after you’ve signed into to Avion. Then click on travel and it asks you to sign into online banking again.
Based on comments this problem has existed for 2 years. Well done.
Can’t log in
I’ve been able to log in before but for the past few months I haven’t been able to log in. I’ve tried on multiple different devices & haven’t been successful

Scam or technical issue?
Initially I signed up for Avion Rewards as I saw there was a $10 bonus if I purchase using the links/sign up on the app. I saw there were some great cashback benefits even though I am not an RBC user. Well, I go on the app and every time I try to sign is there is a technical issue, it was difficult signing up on web and there was no sign of a bonus, Avion Rewards does not honor what they advertise unfortunately. Seems like they are just trying to collect our data for their personal use, while we get no benefits. Honestly I am very disappointed in this, I hope it gets resolved sooner than later…
