How Aviva Journey works 
The app uses your smartphone’s sensors to score you on:

•	Attentiveness: Staying focused on the road and avoiding smartphone use behind the wheel 

What you will see on the app
Trip details: View your recent trips, see how you scored and other driving stats on your personalized dashboard.
Driving score and savings: Your score is calculated from your driving data collected over a 12-month period. To qualify for a renewal discount, you must drive a minimum of 1,000 km during your policy term.
Driving tips and more: Get tailored suggestions to help improve your driving score. You can also use the handy Find My Car feature on the app to locate your parked car.

Looks like the app developers have less driving experience on the road. 

The app assumes that only one person can be in car while driving. My wife sometimes uses my mobile to change songs and report police and stuff. This app deducts points for that and it is very impractical.

You have to apply “hard” brakes sometimes because of other reckless drivers, or a signal suddenly turning yellow where you can’t simply stop because of distance. It deducts points for brakes. 

You can simply use past data as a reference of driving habits and check how many times driver applies hard brakes to determine the nature of driving, instead of relying upon one hard brake in entire 30-40 km journey and deducting points for that!

Drove 500km in the last two days and only 40km got recorded.

This is not one single incident! This happens every few trip.

Lots of time wasted in this app. Very inaccurate, very unreliable. It shows my car is now 100km away from where it actually is because it failed to locate (hence recognize) me driving. 

Horrible app. I need an explanation to why a lot of my trips don’t get recorded.

### **--- "Flawed Telematics: How App Feedback Creates Unsafe Driving Conditions"
This app should not interfere with how drivers apply their brakes, especially when operating within or below the speed limit. Legally and practically, the app creates a distraction that undermines a driver’s fair judgment and ability to maneuver safely based on real-time road and traffic conditions. Relying on the app’s feedback induces anxiety, leading some drivers to impede traffic in an attempt to avoid penalties—ironically increasing the risk of accidents.

Just one of many scenarios: Drivers who hesitate to accelerate when merging, particularly on highways, are a serious hazard. By discouraging proper acceleration and braking, this app prevents merging drivers from confidently tapping the gas pedal to merge safely and forces straight-lane drivers to avoid braking lightly when necessary—exacerbating traffic issues and increasing accident risks.

Should I lightly tap my brakes when an emergency stop is required? This expectation is unreasonable. It raises serious questions about whether the developers, who may lack real-world driving experience, are qualified to set the parameters for this app. Being flagged for “hard acceleration” or “hard braking” even in conditions like snowy roads is impractical and dangerous. This app promotes unsafe habits rather than supporting real-world driving needs.

Always gives a message something went wrong! It’s gotta say what went wrong while trying to use the app! 
Even after providing all permissions, the app has no way of coming alive! 
If this app is expected to be smart, it should say what went wrong, “something went wrong” is a useless message. 
Unfortunately unable to hive -ve stars! Hence one star!

### **--- "Not able to change my roles in past trips"
Some feedback based on the experience I had in the past 7 months of using this app.

I have not been able to change my roles of the trips I took on any of my devices even if I checked all the required permission, however, for some reason if I signed into my account on someone else's devices I could actually do it.

I have reached out to technical support line, but they seems confused with the situation as well.

The app keeps crashing,rides won’t load, and random trip pop up from time to time.

Also as a driver, if someone is using my phone it’s counted as distracted driving and I lose percentage based on that

• Can't change the the role if it gets selected by mistake.
• Sometimes it doesn't give option to select the role and do it by itself.
• Recently it isn't even giving trips for 1-2 days and after then it selects the role by itself. Made my score worst due to this.

Horrible app. I made a u turn in a parking lot and it marked it as a sharp corner turn. Also on 401 highway, whole traffic was going on 120km/hr speed and so did I. It marked as over speeding. So what does it expect me to do? Go slow and have all the other traffic over take me, make it dangerous for me.
