Records data, not audio
Set the app up, tested, test went fine. Went to use the app in a critical situation, after which the file showed data had been collected by the app, but no audio was available to be reviewed, with the app UI showing 10MBs recorded but 0s available for playback. App deleted. All because apple dumbed down their memos app to prevent uncompressed wav files, now, as well as introducing audio artefacts - this is not in the public interest. Also, why is it that of all the data one can request from apple - data known to be collected by purchased apple devices - the audio data as accessible on those devices is not accessible via request from apple incorporated? In this case: voice memo data? ie audio data collected by said devices, and 'stored'.
