Don’t trust it

JustmeCharlee on

App gives a green clear to fly within an active TFR.

Wish they would put more info on where not to fly

AndyW1.2.3.4 on

I wish this app would let recreational drone pilots know where they can and can’t fly. I love taking nature pictures with my drone like the leaves changing and stuff but the drone pilots who don’t use this app would give the rest of us a bad name I’m afraid

Glitchy

Tsb2428 on

App is sometimes very glitchy or unresponsive iOS 17 Apple 14 pro all updates are current

Doesn’t work on iPhone se first edition.

dangit80205 on

The iPhone se screen isn’t long enough. The next buttons & cancel buttons are off screen and can’t be pulled up from the bottom edge.

Great for checking general airspace around you

Harry Hicklez on

Overall I think this is a great app! It’s easy to see what airspace is around you, and it leads to you the regulations if tapped on. I do have some suggestions based on experience. 1.) provide a link to a VRM map or add some stuff from VRM maps into it. I got my part 107, and I check VRM maps since this doesn’t have all the airspace data available. I work somewhere where you can’t fly/take off from, and I often see pilots flying around. From friendly conversation, I see that they use this app. Although it is the job of a pilot to do their research, it is a lot of info, and adding a few things could help less experienced folks. + state parks Each state park is different, but having an airspace around the parks with a link to their website would be nice, or an outline of the boundaries that are clear. + bird and wildlife sanctuaries Many folks may fly in areas they see is alright to do so, but is an important area to birds, which may attack drones! Having the boundaries warning people to check would be beneficial not only to them, but to the wildlife that may be unintentionally harassed + Military routes Adding where some routes for military operations may take place would be helpful. I live were the airspace is clear, but occasionally helicopters fly very low. It is my own job to check when they do these flights, but either having a resource or link, or showing some common flight paths may be useful. + Community added maps This could be a feature that is toggled on and off. It could be edited by other pilots to help others out. “This area is a good spot to fly in, I’ll add a polygon to the app to let others know”. Or “I took off from a spot I could fly, but I was told the airspace near by was off limits, even though the app and VRM maps said otherwise, be warned.” It’s a good app and I check it before flights. But I think adding these suggesting things in could make life easier for new and seasoned pilots, as well as for the community. Keep up the great work!

Awesome app

Davos Sherman on

Team is responsive via chat and email and doing a wonderful job making the user experience better and better. Having worked for a leading app development company I can honestly say this is a remarkable app!

Data improperly shared with third parties

MitchCohen on

Danger: The developer says no data is collected when using this app, but that is false. The App Privacy Report shows the app connects with more than a dozen services, including several at Google who collect your precise location for data harvesting and advertising purposes.

Needs work

daniel.mcq on

I recently got myself a drone so I have been trying to educate myself as much as possible on the safe operation of a UAV. The FAA website directed me to download this app. As a novice, I don't have complaints about the capabilities of this app. What I do notice immediately is the clunkiness of the app. Working in software myself, this app has strong vibes of being made by people not familiar with mobile app development. The map constantly gets stuck, then starts to stutter, and eventually I have to force quit the app. I'm sure I'll get used to its quirks, but I do have higher expectations of apps.

Nice for staying out of trouble

Ferrum1776 on

If you’re a drone pilot of any kind, download this app. It’s saved my butt plenty of times. So I highly recommend getting it

Design could be better

OE2_flow on

On my iPhone 14 pro it doesn’t feel like the UI was built properly to fit the device. Generally the experience is clunky like dropping and clearing pins and looking up airspace details.
