I love the way babble combines word learning and grammar learning in a natural way. Totally worth the subscription! One feature I'd love to see is to be able to add your own custom words to your vocabulary. I have often that I learn some new words from friends or podcasts that I then want to remember. A great way would be to add them to my vocabulary and review them along with my babble vocabulary.
I deliberately chose Babbel (being European / german) as opposed to duo Lingo not to hear Americans speak Spanish. Please either pick Spanish people speaking English to explain, or don’t explain. Yanks are irritating
I would like to build up a personal diary to practice only words and expressions that I personally use
They have a very long onboarding process during which they imply there’s a free version available, but after one exercise on the first day you can only do one more repeat and that’s the whole thing. I don’t have a problem with paid apps, but don’t lie about it to get people to sign up. @apple doesn’t this violate the App Store rules?
Hired actual people for the dialogues and the course covers real-life situations.
I believe is not worth it to pay for this app if you’re really thinking to improve a language , the app is basic and repetitive as Duolingo…may just bit better, that’s why I score 2 stars instead of 1. Better spend the money in the school.
Jammer dat de Nederlandse taal nog niet ondersteund wordt als weergave taal, Zou naar mijn mening een waardevolle toevoeging zijn.
I love Babbel but I still miss a Greek learning course. It would be really amazing if you could make that.
After some years of using Duolingo, I was excited to try Babbel and the first few lessons of Indonesian I was positive because of more practical lessons with dialogues and day-to-day speech. However, after 10 lessons or so this was done and now it’s just boring repetitive vocabulary lessons. So boring I can’t keep doing it. Comparing Duolingo with Babbel - Duolingo has a free mode to try it out or even keep using it with adds, Babbel has to be paid immediately - Duolingo has many more languages (eg Babbel does not have Arab, the 6th language in the world) - As said, after the first few lessons, the quality of Babbel is too bad. And I paid for a year’s subscription, only to be deceived after two weeks So whether you want to pay or not, choose Duolingo instead of Babbel…
