It’s amazing! My ancestors are German therefore I’m wanting to learn German. This has taught me how to do hello, my name is, thanks and see you later. However, as I was getting pumped to learn more, I seen you have to pay for more… I guess I may as well resume with the plan of studying German locally instead… gave 3 star due to how great it is but have to pay… I’m not paying… I also had babbel in the past, it let me learn more but now that I have it back… gotta pay 🙄
Dodgy billing practices was told auto renewal was cancelled and it wasn't and then charged card again
I’m sure this is more my failure but the advertising convinced me of success. I’m finding the issue with visual review of French as compared to English is that the words don’t even look similar so that simple words don’t stick in memory easily. The app provides a quick overview of a few words then moved on, by the third day (3rd lesson) I’d already forgotten what I’d been exposed to. The French language is extremely different from English both visually and phonetically , this app doesn’t help that transition. In order to learn simple statements, I’m now taking simple sentences and listening to them in French, writing them out phonetically, and attempting to memorize them over repeat phrases for a minimum of a week. Can someone write an app that does that?
All of my progress has disappeared and I’m back to beginner. I don’t know how to get my progress back.
i downloaded to see how i liked it, and it wasn’t really for me, so i tried to delete it but it only let me remove it from the home screen.
Would recommend this for people who enjoy more traditional learning styles. It’s very complete and will get you up to speed on basics and structure quickly. Where it’s let down is a lack of inbuilt practice. Expect to spend a lot of your own time outside the app perfecting your learning. Without guidance this becomes difficult to know what to practice, and ultimately led to me cancelling my sub as I felt I reached a point where I was going backward and had no recourse to remediate other than repeating old lessons.

I started using the app a few days ago, I got to about half way through A1 Italian, devoting a fair amount of time. Today I jump on to continue and all my progress is gone… It’s a pretty good app with clear progression, but ultimately useless if it can’t keep track of my progress.
I find the learning in getting better each time with all the online practices
