## BAFinancePrime Description
BA Finance Prime offers an iPhone and iPad version that emulates the TI BA II Plus Professional, all within a single application. This calculator is meticulously crafted to replicate the original’s layout, functionalities, and algorithms. If you are a student or a finance or real estate professional who is already familiar with the BA II Plus Professional, you will find this calculator highly intuitive and familiar.

### ***** "Hands Down, The Best BA II Pro Calculator App!"
I’ve been using the immediate predecessor to this app for countless years as it became my primary calculator. I’m so accustomed to just using the app that my actual physical TI BA II Pro doesn’t get utilized much anymore. Being so used to the app, it was only natural to upgrade it to the new version now that the time has inevitably arrived. To be honest, I really don’t mind having to upgrade now as the apps by this developer are more than reasonably priced for the high quality that you’re benefiting from.

The developer continuously maintains the app and ensures that it stays updated relative to the iOS / iPadOS ecosystem. I used the predecessor for close to a decade and never had to pay for an upgrade, but I get that the latest changes to the OS will likely make for a lot of work to ensure that the apps not only run, but take advantage of the latest features. The fact is that you’re getting a very powerful virtual calculator for around $9, which is a one time fee, one that will last many years before another major overhaul will warrant the creation of a brand new app to take its place. To my delight, the developer also chooses to not mess with subscriptions as he realizes that he won’t be benefiting his customer base. All said, I am happy to support this developer in the rollout of this rewrite because I know that I will likely be able to rely on it for the next decade or so. That’s a very good value if you think about it.

I only wanted to make the above point as I read some reviews that didn’t do this developer justice. That’s a shame, so I wanted to make a point from an actual regular user as to what you are truly getting. The technical functionality of this calculator blows away any competing app to include the official one (and it’s about $6 less expensive too)!

What I like best:

• The “tape” is very useful to follow your work when entering many lines, for example when doing a manual reconcile.

• The help features are top notch as it’s like getting one of the best manuals written on the product alongside the very functional calculator.

• The “EasyCalcs” are one of my favorite tools as it makes certain functions a breeze, a good example is loan amortization.

• And, I was happy to see how easy it is to resize and move your calculator exactly where you want in iOS 26. The position is even saved for the next use.

The verdict is that you’re getting an excellent business calculator from a proven reliable developer, and all for a decent price. Just bu

### *---- "Great Business Model… If You Like Paying Twice"
I bought the earlier version of this calculator. The developer abandoned it, didn’t bother updating it for iOS 26, and it stopped working. The “solution”? Pay another $9 for the same thing.

When I asked about it, the response was basically: tough luck, give me more money. Apparently, the business model here is: sell you an app, let it break, then charge you again. Clever for the developer, terrible for customers.

If you enjoy buying the same app twice, this is for you. Otherwise, steer clear.

This is the new version of the app that works with iOS 26. Yes you have to pay for it again. But in the real world, people have to survive and selling an app to you one time 10 years ago doesn’t pay the bills so please support this develop of this app. It has full amortization tables that you can print. And worksheets works great!

### ***** "Update works well"
I was hoping that all that was needed was an update for iOS26 since my old app version stopped working as I have been running beta for iOS26. I have been using this app since it was first released since it worked and had the audit tape to verify calculations (well, input errors on my part). So I am one of those folks who buys the alternative products put out by app developers to support the original product that I need. It was mysterious why the app stopped working on iOS26 but kept working on the older iOS, but mystery solved - code base rewrites take time and money. The tutorials, clean interface, and on demand help are great features. This is the market leader for the TI BA emulator for great reasons. My older versions of the app work fine for my old iPad with hardware too old to update to the latest iOS. Since this is the one calculator allowed for the CFA, having it handy on my phone is a huge feature. I did buy the potential replacement emulators available, yet keep coming back to the feature set of Ernest Brock's TI BA Pro emulator - well thought out, well developed and eyes on the prize of preventing creeping feature-itis. Would buy BAPrime plus probability functions and Black-Scholes options with greeks and bond calculations with key duration added, separately. But that gets away from the audit tape (storing/editing the audit tape output would fit with the original emulator idea).

### **--- "You pay again for at iOS upgrades!"
Let me guess, you’re here because your previous BA Finance Pro fails on iOS26 and now you have to pay another $9 for the same app. All my other apps (free/paid) work perfectly on iOS26 without paying for a new app all over again. This is simply another money grab and you’ll likely have to pay again on the next iOS upgrade cycle. From what I can tell there are no new features or additional offerings. I understand the need for developer income, but I just bought the previous version and so there should be some kind of consideration/discount for previous owners.  Anyway, the calculator is ok, but you can find others performing the same without paying the toll at each iOS cycle.
