Balatro FAQ

Balatro is not free (it costs 499.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Balatro legit?
✅ The Balatro app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
The game is just as fun as the Steam version, but the iOS version has tons of save file flakiness. Winning unseeded runs not counting for progress, unlocks disappearing, having to re-click the (!) in the unlocks repeatedly… would be 5 stars if it worked like the Steam version does!
Edited 2 stars to 1: The bugs just make this unusable.
Some of the glitchiness I’ve encountered: Profile name keeps reverting to P1 (although renaming P2 sticks.) Winning runs not recorded. Constantly spammed with notices that I have unlocked the Blue Deck… while playing the Blue Deck. Spammed with notices that I’ve unlocked jokers even after unlocking those jokers. Cards I’ve played not showing up in Collection. Cards in Collection keep having a (!) put on them to show that they’re new, even after tapping them multiple times. Doing that one thing enough times to unlock that secret thing didn’t unlock it. Cards and tags that I’ve played not showing in the Collection. Blinds not showing up in Collection. Tried deleting app in order to re-download it and see if it would fix things; the pop up notice said that my cloud save would not be deleted… but my cloud save was deleted and I lost all progress.
Edit 1 star to 5; Updated iOS and all apps, including the Friends of Jimbo 3 patch, and now the save file appears to be working correctly! Not sure which bug it was since they both updated at the same time, but I can finally play.
Goodbye phone battery!
Literally can’t stop playing please help
Unassuming then highly addictive
I originally bought this game when it was on sale for the Nintendo switch. I wasn’t expecting much, but it immediately drew me in and has become one of my most favorite games this year. Within the first week of playing it, I have already bought the physical edition for Nintendo switch, and the mobile edition. So far, mobile works just as well as my handheld console. Love this game!
Poker
It’s just a worse version of poker.
Incredible and addictive
First of all I’ve been playing for almost a month and this game is solid all around. Having been developed by a single person, that is amazing, congratulations on winning Best Indie Game 2024! Also contending against some big titles in best direction. Balatro is worth every penny!!!!
Addictive
I now understand
I love this game
Y’all got robbed. Goty imo
Everyone loves it for a reason
The only mobile game you really need
Not compatible with Mac
The game is a lot of fun and I’m stoked to play it on the go via my iPhone. However when home I use my Mac to work and relax. Quite disappointing that you cannot continue playing on a device that SHOULD be totally compatible…
Absolutely phenomenal game
Balatro on this App Store is a mobile port of a already amazing steam game. This game works perfectly on mobile, and is honestly worth every cent and more.
