## Bandapella Description
Bandapella is a multitrack recording studio on your phone. Record vocals, guitar, keys or beatbox one layer at a time, edit every take on the waveform, mix it all together, and share the finished song as audio or as a split-screen video. Make it on your own, or invite friends to record their parts.

It started as an acapella app, so it is made for voices first: sing every harmony yourself, record an acapella cover, build a virtual choir, or be a one-man band.

Record in layers
• Multitrack recording: overdub each new part while you hear the others in your headphones.
• Audio projects with as many tracks as you like.
• Video projects with split-screen layouts from 1 to 16 parts, in square or vertical 9:16.
• A metronome with tap tempo, and a countdown before each take.
• Import a backing track, such as a beat or an instrumental, or bring in audio parts and video you have already recorded.
• Auto sync lines up every take with the rest of the song.

Edit every take
• A waveform editor with pinch-to-zoom.
• Trim, split, move, fade, crossfade and reverse any part of a take.
• Shift the pitch up or down by as much as an octave, and change the speed.
• Slide a take earlier or later to tighten the timing.
• Undo and redo your edits.

Shape your sound
• Auto Pitch detects your key and scale, then tunes your voice naturally or with a hard-tune effect.
• Clean Vocal reduces rumble, background noise and harsh "s" sounds, with a high-pass filter and a three-band EQ.
• Effects: studio, room and hall reverb, compression and tone, saved as presets you can copy to other takes.

Mix like a studio
• Volume, pan, mute and solo for every track.
• Automation: change the volume, pan or reverb over time.
• Loudness normalization keeps the final mix even.

Collab with friends
• Invite friends with a link or a code. Each person records their part on their own phone, and their takes sync into the project.
• Start a remote band, a virtual choir or an a cappella group without being in the same room.

Share it
• Export AAC audio or MP4 video.
• Post your song to the Bandapella feed as audio or video, follow other musicians, and like and comment on their posts.

The crop icon is unreliable. I’ve tried too many times for it to be user error lol. Sometimes it crops, most times it just resets without changing anything. Uploads both within the app and from the media library are liable to crash or load a blank square…

You have to create an account to use this app. I put in my email, username and password I wanted, and it said “something went wrong, try again later.” I tried a different username and it worked, so instead of telling you that the username is taken, it just makes you think it’s a random error that can be overcome by trying again later. Really bad design, but okay let’s keep going because I want to use what this app has to offer. The new username works, but while the account was being created the little loading wheel just spun endlessly. I crashed the app and reload it, tried to create an account again and it says that email is already in use. So while the wheel was spinning something actually happened. Okay great, I try to sign in and it says my email is not verified. There was no verification link in my email. I go back into the app to see if I can somehow have a verification sent to my email. Nope, nothing. The app just tells me the email isn’t verified. I tried to make an entirely new account with a different email and username and the exact same thing happened. The loading wheel just spun and spun until I had to crash the app again, load back in, try to log in with the new email and again it tells me my email isn’t verified. Again, no verification link in that email either. Checked spam both times and nothing from the app there either. And again, going back into the app gave zero options to have the email verified. Terribly designed app. Might even be maliciously designed to farm emails to sell.

So far I’ve been really enjoying this app. It’s much cheaper than the alternatives and it’s come so far since I last tried it. I had a few issues and the developer was super responsive.
