"In landscape mode the fretboard is backwards!", people complained. "What about lefties?", several of you asked. "How about European notation?" "This isn't really a teaching app." We've fixed a lot of these problems. The fretboard now turns the correct way on the iPad landscape. Lefty mode for Lefties. European and Japanese notations. The "teaching app" part is more difficult. But we have come up with a couple of tools that we'd love you to check out: * Patterns - learn scales up and down the neck, and cool ways to play them. These are almost like song idea generators. Seriously, randomly switch through a few, and see if you start to hear a song. * Favorites - create songbooks. Jot down interesting chords (or scales) you're trying to remember. We've also simplified the pricing. The All Access Pass gives you everything. Ad free, all the skins and beat packs, all the alternate tunings. And in the new Patterns feature, you'll see some "advanced" patterns - these are also included with the All Access Pass. And just think - if we can sell enough of these passes, we can make a living at it, and spend all day thinking about how to make YOU a better Banjo player. It's like... seeing into the future, and being awed at how good a Banjo player you've become. In the future, Banjo Companion keeps getting better and better, and you use it, like, all the time. Future You seems really happy. And your future self looks at you through the time portal, and happily shouts "It's worth it! The All Access Pass is totally worth it!" And like before, there are some other features worth mentioning: - Huge lists of chords and scales, and a ton of alternate tunings - Zoom mode. See everything bigger. - On the neck, display notes, intervals, finger positions - Metronome and drum beats. Accompany thyself. (Beats go great with Patterns, by the way!) - Manually strum the chords (and now scales), and hear how it's supposed to sound - Skins. Several flavorful colors to choose from - Tuner pegs. Simple. Effective. Within the mathematical reaches of our programmer. Thanks for checking us out! We would love to hear what you think of Banjo Companion, and things you need that would make you a better Banjo Player. ## Banjo Companion Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/a7/c8/24/a7c82485-227e-09b3-3fe7-d61be2fec70d/mzl.vpokzvxf.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/64/fd/97/64fd975f-5873-4cf9-38a9-e7d6d5f1bf03/mzl.ilrmbown.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/d6/4d/ec/d64dec95-a234-3c54-562f-5575bb2c6937/mzl.ofmmetuv.png/640x960.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple128/v4/89/0a/5d/890a5d91-a859-d0c5-769f-8ee140e8e948/mzl.vyimzrlw.png/640x960.png) ## Banjo Companion Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 13 (48%) - 4 stars: 5 (19%) - 3 stars: 3 (11%) - 2 stars: 1 (4%) - 1 stars: 5 (19%) ## Banjo Companion Reviews in United States ### ***** "Heck yeah" Some features are behind a small pay wall, but almost everything the average player needs is available for free and at a high quality. -- TenorPicker1, 2025-12-13 ### *---- "Poor Design" The app is poorly designed; you know it’s bad when it starts and welcomes with a guitar name and does not mention the banjo. The tutorial does not provide a chance to interact. The interface is too busy and the buttons are too small for an iPhone. Avoid it, and spend the time with a YouTube instructor. You’ll get more banjo with your time. One Star was one too many. -- JFB2, 2024-01-13 ### ***-- "Tuner soso" Their are other appa that are much better tuners, apps that can actually listen to the banjo. -- op3nm1nd3d, 2023-07-03 ### ****- "Fret Board Position Markings" I love this app. Position Markings or fret numbers on the side would be helpful. I’d prefer markings or side dots. -- MPGraves, 2020-04-03 ### ***** "Wonderful tool" This is a wonderful tool to assist beginners on learning chord fingering. -- macborgie, 2020-01-30 ### ***** "Huge list of tunings" Great resource to quickly look up scales and chords for dozens of banjo tunings -- Skinsg, 2018-03-14 ### **--- "Where are the fret markers?" No fret markers on the fret board makes me think someone without banjo background wrote this. Where are the pentatonic scales? Also, it looks like all scales are single string without melodic based scales (Keith style). -- moniker999, 2018-02-28 ### ***** "The best!" I use this app almost daily. It is easy to use and very helpful. -- Jimmy fgtfhyf, 2017-12-22 ### ***-- "Sandy River belle tuning" Please GEADE -- Janet Grimm, 2016-05-22 ### *---- "Pop quiz: where can you find YouTube videos?" On this app! Why do I need to download a stupid app just to watch Youtube videos? this is the worst waste of space on a phone. Srsly Apple, are you even reviewing this garbage anymore? -- keepflyin, 2016-01-19 [View all Banjo Companion reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Banjo Companion In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | All Tunings | $3.99 | | All Access Pass | $9.99 | | Ad Free | $2.99 | | Double-C (g C G C D) | $0.99 | | All Skins | $1.99 | | C Tuning (c C F B D) | $0.99 | | All Beats | $2.99 | | Country Pack | $0.99 | | D Tuning (f# D G A D) | $0.99 | | Standard C (g C G B D) | $0.99 | ## Banjo Companion Discovered Keywords -
