Barometer Plus

This was my go to app for monitoring air pressure. Sadly, the very intrusive advertising has made the app unusable. Really sad to stop using it.

I couldn’t even use the app to see if I wanted to buy because of the very very intrusive adverts.

The data tracking does not work. It only updates the pressure and plots a point of the app is opened. Others track in the background so you can trace trends

I've been using this for ages and it does what I need and I didn't mind the adverts, until recently when the adverts have started to become political/propaganda and I want to know if the developer knows the type of ads that are being shown on the app. Update: now asking me to activate motion and fitness and no explanation why. Doesn't look like its working now. 26.04.2024

Here is my update on 17/11/2023 after having received a reply from the developer. My original review is below. The developer advised me about the fact there are two version of the app and I should download and install the Pro version. This I did about 45minutes ago and the same problem is occurring after I updated the version on the 6th November. When I open the Pro version of the app, it then closes down after about 2 seconds. I’ve reinstalled it yet again, rebooted my phone, and it still does the same.... shutting down after about 2 second. It says it’s compatible with this phone, but it’s just not working. I use this app because it was so great and I could keep an eye on pressure variations whilst in the mountains, and also because I work at festivals and this helps me prepare for changes in the weather. So please, can you rectify this problem. Many thanks ‘Original review’:- I’d been using the Pro version of this app which I’d paid for and it was amazingly useful. I got an update notification today re an update, which I did. After the update the app wouldn’t open so I had to delete it and reinstall. After the reinstall the app now has gone back to the basic version and won’t let me update unless I pay again!!! It also now tells me that my phone can only use the older version which I’ve just installed, and guess what.... adverts, adverts, adverts. Can’t customise unless I pay, which, as I stated above, I had already paid!!! Please, sort this out for me as I can only give one star till it’s been resolved!!! Thank you. Ps, I’m using IOS 12.5.9

An excellent accurate app, it’s readings align with Glasgow airport aviation barometric readings.

Been using this for a while until recent times when really intrusive adds and lack of usability have made it useless. Deleted it. UPDATE Had response from developer saying I can pay to get rid of the Ads, which was obvious. Said nothing about the usability. As I only use it to occasionally it is not worth it. If the ads had not become so in your face and intrusive and it returned to its original usability I would have been happy to continue.

The colours are not very nice. The colours for the housing should be much stronger and different from the disk, for greater contrast. Otherwise very happy with the with the App. Orange colour does not look orange colour. The yellow colour looks more green than yellow. The purple colour okay.
