Barron’s Reviews

Free trial is trying indeed

KAREPOCONTRACTING on

Australia

I’m unable to offer opinion regarding accuracy or caliber of content here. But I can attest to the promise of a free trail as a scam by any other name. A clear strategy here of making cancellation a process so difficult one will simply give up allowing them to collect payments outside the 30 days. Given the lengths they have so clearly gone to insure this. Lengths quickly becoming apparent should you suffer the misfortune of navigating their app and website. A sane person would have to question the value of any service offered from a company who treats customers in such a fashion. It seems a sort of customer service equivalent to that of criminal enterprise. They too have such a solution in place to retain membership in high numbers after the initial excitement of a trial period subdues.

Buggy App & Low insight Analysis

pjnel on

Australia

The App keeps crashing, with some articles only showing the first paragraph. The watchlist often doesn't work and has limited ways to view your portfolio. Final issue is the low quality of the financial analysis. This is analysis light, with opinion, too often replacing detailed analyst. Go for the WSJ or FT instead. They both have better financial journalist and are comparable in price if you get a digital subscription.

Disappointing

Gam3 on

Australia

The content is good, but the app is seriously flaw. It's laggy even on iPad 2. The WSJ app is much better.

Subscription services are maddening

Myyob77453 on

United States

I paid my subscription for the month and the service is not letting me access any of the articles in the app. It’s been a few weeks since I paid and no access. This has been a continuous problem and has worsened in the last months. I’m done with this… cancelled my subscription.

Solid app with some minor glitches

Santu14 on

United States

Solid app with very nice layout and UX. I wil give 5 stars if below issues are addressed. 1.When clicking on notification it takes me to the website instead of app. Pretty surprising that this basic routine feature is missing in Barron’s app 2. There is no dark mode option available to view the articles. We need this.

This is a useful app, but very poorly maintained. It is buggy, sometimes they fix it, but then new bugs creep in. For example, today, regardless on which item I click, I get the same story displayed. Very frustrating. It is very frustrating.
