## Basecamp Description
The refreshingly simple, and remarkably effective, project management platform.

Managing people and projects under pressure is tough enough. Unfortunately, lots of software makes it worse by over-complicating things. Basecamp’s different.

What makes Basecamp special?

It’s dialed in. For nearly two decades, we’ve continually refined a unique set of tools and methods to fundamentally reduce complexity, and make project management more of a joy and less of a chore. Perfected and pressure-tested by hundreds of thousands of teams on millions of projects, Basecamp’s the gold standard for a simpler, superior version of project management.

Basecamp works because it’s the easiest place for everyone in every role to put the stuff, work on the stuff, discuss the stuff, decide on the stuff, and deliver the stuff that makes up every project. Not on separate platforms scattered in various places, but all intuitively organized in one centralized place where everyone can work together.

Basecamp’s intentionally simple by design. It’s why teams that sometimes leave in search of “more power” end up slamming into the consequences of over-powered software: Complexity. Complexity doesn’t work. Basecamp does. It’s why those that leave end up coming back and sticking with us the second time around. You never know what you had until it’s gone.

## Basecamp Reviews in United States

### **--- "Waste of time"
Upload pictures in the app is a mess I have close the app and open it again like three or four times just ti upload pictures, it makes me waste time everyday.
-- teokingteo, 2024-11-18

### ***-- "Great service but app is a little flaky"
Love Basecamp for the most part especially on desktop. The iOS app sometimes won’t let me enter the message box or, when I can enter the box, it won’t let me send.

I also wish that the Hey tab included pings.
-- Mister Tenderloin, 2024-11-07

### ***** "Couldn’t be productive without it"
Seriously, my team would not be as productive without Basecamp. Tried Slack but Basecamp stuck.
-- Ribs-N-Whiskey, 2024-08-16

### *---- "Not for mobile"
I’ve read Rework. Long time ago.

The company talks a big game about their culture and bla bla, but at the end of the day, this is either a lazy web wrapper, or just a complete disaster of an iOS app.

It does not feel like a native iOS app. It’s terrible; the way it handles checklists (the basic thing you’d want from this kind of app) stinks major doody; and it is so clumsy. So slow. So bleh.

If Basecamp is so great, why does your iOS app stink? This feels like it was made for a desktop experience, and is still stuck in 2006.

Disappointing.
-- Dov+, 2024-07-17

### *---- "Crashes constantly and freezes phone"
I’ve always experienced frequent crashes with the app on iPhone and iPad, but the latest version now also freezes and bogs down my phone, sometimes requiring a reset.
-- dmw010, 2024-03-22

### ****- "Love it but..."
It could be streamlined for mobile. There's just too many taps / clicks to get around and do things. Will you all be making UI a priority on mobile. For instance - it was great for you to finally improve image viewing by adding a gallery / click-thru view...but why isn't that available on mobile?

Love Basecamp but we live in motion many of us. Would love to know your thoughts...
-- Hey Brett, 2024-03-17

### *---- "Lost all my data"
I just finished taking a year off from my project and opened up the app only to find that my account and data was canceled and permanently deleted. Unreal. Years of work and all of it gone. I can’t begin to describe how angry I am.
-- Mountainsidetech, 2024-02-09

### *---- "Can’t even log in"
The site encourages you to log in with google, but the app doesn’t recognize your address if you log in that way. Useless.
-- snofoam, 2024-01-09

### *---- "iPad Compatability"
I use my iPad a lot for work, unfortunately there is a draw back. At least one that i have found.

I cannot save calendar events to my calendar because when it prompts me to change the setting, the setting to allow base camp to make adjustments to the calendar is not even available. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.
-- Jonesy.318, 2023-12-11

### ***-- "Great platform but apps…"
The apps are now missing feature parity. Basecamp used to stand on offering the same features no matter how you accessed the platform, but that’s not the case anymore.
-- D2Rhino, 2023-06-16
