Battery Life Alarm PRO

I previously left a negative review when running iPadOS 15. Since updating to iPadOS 16.7, it works well when the following conditions are met: 1) This app is left running onscreen before turning off the display 2) Background Mode option is toggled “on” in the app 3) Focus/Do Not Disturb mode is turned off on iPad (so the alarm sounds) 4) Make sure your device volume is loud enough to hear the alarm. With this magic combination, this app works very consistently to sound the alarm at 80% battery for me when charging. Previously, it was very hit-and-miss on iPadOS 15. Have not yet upgraded to iPadOS 17 (always wait a little bit to let Apple fix the big bugs first), so can’t speak to that OS compatibility yet. Gave it four out of five stars now - taking one star away due to the complexity involved to get it to consistently sound the alarm.

I’ve used this product for years on my old iPhone 7 and SE 2nd Gen. only ran into a problem today. I noticed on iOS 17 the app says 95% battery but it’s 97%. I think it may need an update as I never had a problem before now.

Very reliable app, does what it says. I’ve been looking for this type of battery charging app for some time. Very accurate. I especially like the selection of tones available. Kudos to the developers!!

Last update killed the app, it was working very well, but, after the update, the app has a lot bugs and it isn’t working. After update to 4.0.6, the problem started, and yesterday I update to the new 4.0.7, but no change.

I tried a couple of other battery apps but this one does exactly what I want: Gives me an alarm when the charge reaches the lower and upper limits I’ve set. If you need what it does you can’t go wrong. There’s a good FAQ page that helps explain things & the dev is great; he fixes bugs right away.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it numerous times and it’s the same thing. I have it set for 40% (low) and 100% (high) and It’ll work sometimes for both. Then sometimes on one of them and then it won’t work for either of them. I carefully read all instructions and have gotten these results repeatedly. I’m tired of messaging around with this. It would’ve been a useful app if it constantly worked. Two thumbs down!!!

When it works it’s awesome.

The Pro Version, which you have to pay for, only works occasionally. If you want to stop the charge at 80% it will not work unless is it front and center (displayed on the screen). If you want it to work in the background while you perform other tasks, forget it. The alarm will not go off at either setting, max or min. On iPad, it’s almost useless. Once the background mode switch disappeared from the battery display page. It returned only after deleting and reinstalling the app. The same unreliable crappy performance, discussed above, kept happening even after the reinstall.

I didn’t mind paying for the pro version to get what used to be free if it worked. The background mode wasn’t very reliable in the free version and now it still doesn’t work for both the minimum level nor the maximum charging level. Update: They just updated the app. So far it worked on the charge limit twice but the lower limit hasn’t ever worked. I have used a timer in the past because I couldn’t rely on this app. In other words I set a timer for an hour or more depending on the level I’m at. And then also use this app. Apple is probably the only one to make this really work and they don’t care how long your battery lasts. Preventing my iPhone X from charging all the way to 100% made my phone stay at maximum capacity for the whole first year and then ended three years use with 90% capacity. So I know this works Latest Update 4/27/20 Newest update appears to work in both charge and discharge limits. When charging and alarm goes on I plug in charging cable and alarm stops. When it discharges and alarm goes on when lower limit is reached I plug charging cable and alarm stays on. So that’s a minor problem that should be changed but over all I’m happy with the new update. Latest update 4/29/20 Looks like it all been fixed so I’ll give five stars. Well done Tim.
