Hate it

nfggj on

I have always use this app, but I hate the new version on my iPhone. I miss most the top stories and the ability to swipe to bring up the next story. Having to go back to home each time spoils the experience of getting a quick news update. l have downloaded Sky news instead. Until today I was still able to get the old version on my iPad, but now that too has been updated. I note all the reviews of the updated version are poor, but as usual the corporation takes no account of licence payers views. Wow someone did take notice. Just used the app again and suddenly able to swipe from one story to the next - great improvement. Thanks for the improvement. Now able to enjoy BBC news app again.

Poorer than before update.

I used to read the BBC news before any other provider but the completely changed layout lead to ‘dumbing down’ and general reduction in quantity and quality so rarely look at it now!

Inferior to the Red Button

Although I do use the news app it is a constant disappointment. It is hard to get to a good range of stories.

Fairer society on

So much bias on the BBC. For instance today 2 parties had press conferences - the Lib Dem’s and the Reform party. One party given lots of air time on BBC News at One - the Lib Dem’s and absolutely no mention of the Reform Party. What is fair about that?????

Very Informative

Love the BBC for coverage of all news. Keep it up.

Good instant coverage

In this busy life of today it’s a job to keep up. Even I in my senior years sometimes cannot get to read my newspaper (which I love)until the evening. Having the radio on is not always possible and one of my principals is not to have TV on until 6pm. However I always have my iPhone on me and appreciate the news updates . It’s so important to keep informed.

Biased,Racist?

Kells Lad. on

Since the Hamas attack on October 7th the BBC has towed the British government line, initially every mention of Hamas had to be followed by the statement “A designated terrorist organisation by the British government “apart from the propaganda tour given to Jeremy Bowen which even he could not independently verify what was the Truth or Israeli propaganda, very little coverage has been given to the plight of the civilians in Gaza and even less in the Occupied West Bank. Yesterday your coverage was about the four hostages being released and the jubilant scenes in Israel.Fair enough, but what about the carnage that took place to accomplish this at the last count 226 dead and around 400 injured.Where does that appear in your news coverage? The children having their limbs blown off,the pregnant woman whose foetus was exposed when her stomach was torn open? Evidence supported by medics whose colleagues are working in the Al-Aqsa Hospital and are giving first hand accounts, some of these medics are British who have been working in Gaza and have since returned home.Regardless whether they are British or not are they not more trustworthy than the lies spewed out by the Israeli government ie “Our army is the most moral in the world,we do not deliberately target civilians “? Why do you not cover the arrests in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, the illegal land grabs, the violence and killings committed by the Israeli settlers which is with the approval of the Israeli government. Why do you not investigate the torture of Palestinian prisoners, the conditions that they are held in,how many to a cell ,why they are shackled even to hospital beds, evidence backed up by Israeli medics, those who are brave enough to speak out? The Conservative ministers and MPs who speak out for Israel of which there are many, have you ever thought of looking into their connections with this State and their motives? To return to the title is the BBC racist, biased towards a Zionist regime, are you afraid of upsetting certain “People “? You may have once been held in high regard regarding your journalism but I’m afraid those days are long gone. Aljazeera and TRT companies have film crews on the ground in Gaza and the Occupied Territories where the Truth cannot be hidden from the cameras, their journalists are heroic. The British public pay for the running of the BBC not the government. It’s time to get a back bone and maybe earn some respect.
