I struggle to understand what has happened here. I’ve had the BCC app for years, it was fine, not amazing but did what I wanted from it no worries. 

The new app is so so bad. So clunky. 

You can’t swipe to go back/forward through menus anymore, you have to navigate to the top and click “back”. Why the hell would you remove that feature? 

I hate it so much. I still want to read BBC for the content but mate, please fix this app!! It can’t be that hard.

I’ve used this app and enjoyed it for years,  just can’t understand why they’ve delete the ability to swipe back to the main page or section. This update makes navigating annoyingly harder where you have to scroll back to the top of the article and hit the back button or swipe down from the top?? Can’t see the reason to remove the standard back function. Might sound trivial but geez it’s annoying!

This used to be my go to news app. Loved the coverage and flexibility of the app. The new version is horrible. Like using a second rate news app. Go to a segment article like sports, choose an article, and you return, instead of taking you back to sports, it goes home!?  Poor navigation, pop-ups everywhere, multiple ads, and poor resolution photos which you used to be able to expand for a detailed view… not any more. Living in in Australia, this was best, unbiased view of world events. The BBC has sold out here. I’ll be looking for a new source.

I’m still a bit shocked that one app update can destroy the look and feel of using, what was, a good app. BBC News app now is hard to read, has no zoom function, removed the day/night function, no more tap and zoom on pictures (who would remove that function?), change to a very basic hard to use layout. I am deleting the app and moving to CNN and Sky. I’ll check back in on a few months in the hope that at least they revert back to something usable.
