No longer possible to save favorite topics
The old app was customisable, and it was possible to select the topics one is interested in. That is no longer possible, and the app has become useless.

Spams notifications.
Solid app but far too many “breaking news” notifications. I get maybe 6-8 a day, where most of them are for absolutely irrelevant things that could never be considered “breaking news”
From one of the best news apps, to the absolute worst.
Almost ZERO usability, most of Apple’s features are disabled or not functioning properly, for example swiping right to go back to previous pages. No texts are selected either, like a name of an unfamiliar place for further information.

App not up to today’s standards
The news and stories are world class but the app itself is slow, buggy, jumping to browser and back, the scrolling is jittering and inconsistent, and it just plain looks like it’s from decade ago.
New UI ruined the news experience
Whatever the objective of the news layout, it has completely crushed the structured, organized way of reading news. “Top Stories” and “Most Read” just vanished. The new layout is unnavigable.
the update has made it worse
Before on the BBC app, I could favourite topics of my interest and search for articles. Now, I can’t do any of that. I can only read the current news. This means that if I find an interesting article now, I cannot save it for later or search for it later. I have to read it immediately or I will lose it. The only reason I use this app is because it is the most convenient for breaking news, but the quality of the app has sharply declined after their most recent update. The app was not even the best to begin with. Hoping there will be improvements soon.
The app works but is not great
The app is very clunky and unintuitive to use. Now with the most recent update they seem to have removed the search function. The most basic of features
Huge step backwards
The latest major version makes News reading so much harder. Gone are major topics like Business and Technology, instead we got Wales and Cricket. No offense,but no thanks
Awful update
Latest layout update is awful. Now you are forced to read what they think you should. old version was way better, shame… Have deleted and installed ITV news
