Dear developers, 

The usability of your app has reduced badly. I’m using you app not just to stay up to date but also to learn new words.  But it looks like you have now blocked the users from marking words and using IOS translation tools to define the meaning. 

Now I have to remember the word I do not understand, open another translation app and retype the word I want to understand. Really tedious. 

Another point I’d like to mention, when going back I need now to click the cross top right. Volks, you are hopefully aware that phones are getting bigger, and the cross at the top right corner is much further away then just swiping to the left.  

Hope you can get the usual experience back.

Seit der Überarbeitung ist die App leider viel unübersichtlicher als vorher. Dazu kann man Artikelbilder nicht mehr vergrößern und keine Texte mehr markieren und kopieren. Das finde ich besonders schade, weil man vorher als nicht-Muttersprachler so mal eben schnell ein Wort nachschlagen konnte. Geht jetzt nicht mehr. Bei jedem Start wird man außerdem zur Erstellung eines Accounts genötigt. Kann man zwar überspringen, kommt dann halt beim nächsten Start wieder.
Die News sind natürlich immer noch die gleichen. Nur eben unkomfortabler, weniger benutzerfreundlich und unübersichtlicher präsentiert.

I resisted the upgrade to the black version as long as I could; but I was now forced to “upgrade”. 
The new version is truely terrible and a huge step back. The reviews since the update have been uniformly negative, but BBC doesn’t seem too bothered to respond to the criticism of their customers, as this update is now over 6 months old with no rollback or tweaks.. 
As they have sucked the functionality and fun out of this app I will sadly have look for alternatives; pity

The new update is so bad it makes me write a review which I never bother with usually. Not able now to set in dark mode, display and layout much worse than before - no longer able to view images or zoom in on an article. All the worst things that happened to the bbc sport app. And that was why I stopped using that too. Thanks BBC. Since I was a teenager you have progressively gotten worse. Please don’t always consider updates progression.
