Great before someone thought it needed improving. It was perfect before. Clear and well organized. Now it's some kind of tabloid style BS. Can't find stories or simple top story updates. You have to wade thru tons of other news to see what u want. Why fix something if it isn't broken?? Bring back the old format please!
UPDATE: Going full on MSM - opinion pieces being presented as news. Swinging full right wing. And getting close to removing them as a news source. 🤷‍♀️

Repeating articles in same column. Can’t zoom in on photos to see details. Videos autoplay one after another. Forced to scroll through sport articles I’m not interested in, can’t remove unwanted subject matter. Scrolling jumps about while adverts load loosing my place while reading.

The new version has lost a very important feature: swipe to the right to move back to the home page from an article. Very annoying that you now need two hands. In addition, pictures have a very low definition and you can’t open and zoom them anymore.
Lastly, with this version you can’t select a word that you need to look up. You could before.

With the previous functions, we can click on any vocab on any articles and hold it for a second show that I can choose “look up” or “translate” to translate any difficult vocab for us, without the need of leaving the app.

Now with new version, this function is no longer available.

I have an old but perfectly functioning ipad2 mini. As for some other apps, I am not allowed anymore to use this up unless I update to a version that is not supported. Don’t sell yourself to Apple’s anti-customer policies. You large app developers have the power to say no. 

I love the app, but won’t be forced to buy another device I don’t need.

Unfortunately the update means I can no longer customise my news feed and am sadly now forced to read news from a closed set of pre-selected categories, various of which are of absolutely no (none, zero, zilch) interest to me. Why do I have to cross fingers hoping an article belongs to a certain subcategory, so that I may click on it and escape the novel newsfeed jail the BBC has trapped me in?

I (and many others) enjoyed the app for the breadth (and depth in some cases) of the information provided and frankly the update has all but nullified this. And the new order in which categories are placed in the feed is frankly laughable and shows a worrying step backwards/inwards in terms of impartiality (technically a cornerstone of the BBC but I digress 🥴)
