Still missing being able to swipe back to the main page after reading an article. Works with “live” articles but not with the regular ones. Hope you can add this. Otherwise a decent experience (but not feeling native)

Agree with many reviewers that the new app's UI design is worse than the old version. I miss the ability to set up my own topics. The new version has just made me read BBC news way less than before.

The new app also lacks the ability to go back by swiping right from the left edge, you need to press the top Back button. The Home button should bring you to the top of an article on first click. It feels like the app wraps web content inside a container app, making interaction a bit clunky.

The BBC News app lacks support for the iPhone’s integrated dictionary feature, making it difficult to look up word definitions. Additionally, the copy-paste functionality doesn’t work. Please address these issues in future updates to improve the user experience. Thank you!

The latest version of the app has really made it much worse. It used to have a pleasant, clear, and easy to use user interface. The new UI is chaotic with different style of articles mixed together, and only few with images. 
It also crashes often now. 
Even simple things like selecting a word to look up its definition don’t work anymore. 
Please bring back the old app.

Really bad update! After I updated for the new version in March, I can no longer mark text to look up words. This is utterly useless and frustrating as a non-native English speaker or just as a generally curious person. Also, why the bloody hell would I want to sign in just to read the news? I know it probably cost more but the ability to customise what I see in this app was its most useful feature. And it has become so much less visually clear now - including the fact that it’s locked in portrait mode, which makes it hard to see the pictures properly.

BBC is still a first class news organization. This app, howver, has gradually declined in usability and possibility to tailor. Some years ago, there was brilliant app which you could tailor to your interests. Then is became just a mess of random news. Now it is just a mess, where you seldom get to any news at unless you click yourself through a marathon of cookie questions and account creation pages.

Unfortunately, the new version lacks focus and usability. Engagement factor has decreased for some reason and best way to show that is to have a look at the’BBC Sports’ app. Much better that one. There should be a cohesive appearance and UI for both the apps and using the sports app as a guideline would serve BBC well. Now catching up on news reading off another news app instead.

They new update has made the app so much less usable. 
Getting a quick overview of what the content is is much harder now. There are only titles and no images for a lot of articles. The visuals which helped see without reading entire titles meant one could scroll and find articles of interest quickly. 
I am not sure how this update improved anything.

Search functionality should be easy to find and use. It’s not actually available. Best best is to follow links to het onto their website. So probably best to avoid the app completely, just go for the website. Unless notifications are a high priority for you, then the app is great.
