I must be the chosen one: “BBEdit” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “BBEdit” and download it again from the App Store. That's the comment I get when trying to start bbedit.
Subscription, what a joke. MS Visual Studio Code is better.
I have been using text wrangler for a while but needed to upgrade after moving to Catalina. This has the same features if not more and I am please with it for what I use. It's not my primary editor but I like it as it loads fast and opens large files. Just like text wrangler it is free although it is possible to upgrae for a fee.
It is trial only. There are not in-app purchases, you have tu buy full app :(
Working with projects was the only reason I bought BBEdit. Unfortunately, their features table doesn't say that at the moment projects hardly support sftp files. You cannot have a remote directory tree in your project window - all files and directories (and files from subdirectories) appear exactly the same way - flat (no structure). Opening/saving each file requires opening NEW (s)ftp connection, like if the app was unaware that they all belong to the same (s)ftp server. If I knew about it, I would have never purchased BBEdit.
