Unless you have a US mobile you cannot set up an account therefore can’t use the bikes. Really stupid. We wanted to have a quick cycle around Santa Cruz. Bikes sitting there unused but we can’t pay to use them. Why not have a method to use your credit card??
You need to verify signing up by receiving a code via text message. There is no option to enter an international number, so cannot verify my user account. So, no tourists allowed!!
Of all the bike/scooter share schemes I’ve used worldwide this has to win the prize for most expensive - a 30 minute ‘pass’ costs £8.70 for UK users ($11)! How does this encourage environmentally sustainable travel? The monthly/annual cost is not too bad if you’re a daily user so maybe they are trying to discourage tourists from using.
Useless if you’re a visitor as you need a US cell. Honestly come guys!
Tried to blag through account setup using hotel address but still needed a US mobile number so no good for other nationalities. We used another e-bike on the street (name begins with H & all black in colour) which allowed UK account setup.
I am aware that forgetting my password is my fault but retrieving it is impossible! No one available at customer services EVER and the forgot my password email link never appeared. Its a massive shame as making cycling easy will help everything to do with both transport and carbon emissions in cities. Sort it out please!
Love green bikes but definitely have to be patient with the app due to intermittent buggy behaviour.
I can’t meaningfully rate the functionality of this app, because I was never able to open it. I deleted and reinstalled it, but to no effect. Shame.
I had purchased a student annual pass. And I regret it. Last year the electric bikes that would be available were commonly not charged and due to the weight of the bike it was counter intuitive to ride the bike compared to walking. But when the bikes were charged it was a nice experience to be able to rent a bike for an hour around the beach town of Santa Cruz. This year many of the bike docking stations would have trouble. Many would be covered unable to dock the bike and the app would not indicate the correct number of open docks resulting in myself having to ride a bike to 4 separate stations just to dock the bicycle. The bicycles were at least charged.
