Subscribing to a note taking app. Plain greed.
I have been subscribing Pro for a while, has been liking all the features in 1.0. Now I cannot open a single note, after it got upgraded to 2.0.
With the new update, my notes aren’t sorted by the time they were last modified.
Bear is by far, the best note-taking app I have used. It’s super user friendly. It syncs in real time with all my Apple devices, including Apple Watch. The folder system helps make easy arranging and organising my notes, scripts, messages, posts for blogs, social media ans what have you. And it cost peanuts. Thank you, Bear 👏🏾👍🏾👌🏾
This is one of the better note-taking apps out there, that’s not bloated with too many features, simple to learn and use, and fuss free. I use this a lot. Granted, it’s relatively “basic” and not really for collaboration, but hey, sometimes you want an app that has more features (eg customised icons, markdown) than Apple’s basic Notes. I subscribe to this. There are a couple of bugs (eg trashed stuff remain), so it’s not perfect. But overall, this is useable and effective.
Beautiful UI and seamless UX
Love the outlook and the features but please allow widgets for quick and efficient browsing for notes. Thanks!
I’ve tried quite a few note taking apps in the apple ecosystem but I keep coming back to bear. Even though other apps like notion or goodnotes are packed with features, bear chooses a different route and focuses on doing just one thing well - writing notes. Formatting text in Bear is done through using a markup language rather than styles that are applied to text. You can choose to use commonmark or bear’s own beardown language. This may be subjective but I prefer using this style of formatting as I can maintain my typing momentum on the keyboard without slowing down to select a block of text and applying something like italics to it. I just have to type in the required symbols and be on my merry way through the sentence. The interface is also really clean and places the focus on the writing of notes. That said, the devs could do more to provide more customisation in how to organise notes. Currently you can place notes in folders and also tag them, but you can’t change the position of these folders and tags in the interface, with the default filters like “all notes”, “archive” and “trash” being at the top of the interface. One thing Bear sorely needs is a web app which the devs have been working on for quite a bit of time. Right now you can only access your notes from within the apple ecosystem which isn’t ideal for people who have to jump between OSes from time to time.
Good Good Good
I find this app generally useful. But is there a way to search a word within a single page? I can only get a list of pages that contain the word, but I cannot search the specific location of that word within the page. Not on the iPad.
