My only observation is the fact that now with the app, we can’t add a note to be more specific about the pick up details when we booked the trip to let the drivers know things like…stores name, upper or lower levels or side/number entrances… there are many stores inside the plazas, and some are two floor level stores with different entrances 🤷🏻♀️ But other than that, I’m pretty happy with the service. I’ve been using Beck for the past 25 years and never had a problem.
Last fall this app was great and today I used it and it to forever to get through the verify at the stop. After that it worked ok until I got to my destination and I couldn’t give a tip. Got an error message and the only option was to ‘Dismiss’ but the guy said the charge for the ride went through but not the tip. Luckily I had some cash. Happened again on the return trip. Please fix this!
I refuse to use Uber. Uber needs to wipe out taxi s to succeed. That is a business model no one should support
Overall I like the app but I don’t think I’ve had a single trip where the arrival time wasn’t shown as 1 minute. And the taxi is many minutes away. Sometimes as long as 10 minutes or more. This can’t possibly be hard to make more accurate.
If you are reading this review because you’re looking for a reason to use a taxi service, I can assure you that the only Safeway to travel is through license and insured service providers. When you get in any other vehicle, you’re taking your life in your own hands. Thank you to back tax for providing a safe reliable option for those of us who don’t feel special because of riding in a car that doesn’t have the company markings on the outside.
I like this app for the convenience! But it drives me a little bonkers when the time estimates are completely off. I booked a cab at 16:09 and it predicted that the cab was 1 minute away. The cab actually showed up at 16:15, so much for that prediction.
Safer and more on time
So efficient and the rate is great too!
Update Feb 2024 — bad to worse! The app now updates taxi position so infrequently it shows 8 blocks away though it has arrived. The whole Beck system collapsed today, app unresponsive, call in progress lost before arrival, false charges placed on my card. Really quite incompetent, driving loyal users to Uber & Lyft. ***The stars-rating should be *reset* for an entirely new app as this one is! Misleading… 3rd update: Still a bad change — Apple Maps and the app do not work together to find time for taxi to arrive, as the old app did. All rides show “1 minute”, and mostly do not change until taxi is at the door. 2nd update: More troubles from app — sent driver to wrong address, ignoring location i entered. Driver-end software led two in a row off and away from address supplied… Driver could not get paid, for pre authorized ApplePay ride. 1st Update: More terrible still…***** September major update a technical failure. Apple Maps cannot display taxi location, lags by minutes. Apple Pay only, no more PayPal. I give it a week then find another company, this is useless.
I use to like this app but recently drivers have not shown up, or went to wrong address and beck still charges. If it was once I would ignore but this has happened a few times now.
