Way too primitive to pay for
I like the idea, but implementation is primitive. Hard to listen to AI voice and so many mistakes in the pronunciation! Like each paragraph had a problem. I reported few and canceled the trial.

Only hears 20% of the words I pronounce. Doesn’t pick upOther apps have no problem hearing my pronunciation. So it’s the app
This app is going in the right direction, but it is so I effectively developed that it is more frustrating than anything. 1. Clicking things like “more…” doesn’t actually work half of the time 2. The mic button to record your speech doesn’t give any indication when it is ready to listen 3. Super slow and laggy 4. No intuitive way to learn multiple languages at once (at least none that I have found). I’m using the free 7-day trial for premium. Glad I didn’t actually pour any money into this because it’s clearly in a beta state at best. Developers: you have the right ideas, but this implementation is sorely lacking and needs improvement.
What an amazing app but wow, the male reading voice for French is absolutely horrible. It’s very difficult to listen to it to the point that I can’t even get through the lesson.
There are typos everywhere - in both sections, English and Spanish. I don’t even speak Spanish that well and I can notice the typos. Honest question I’d like to know, is this app made by AI? Also, nothing will ever ever load!?!?
I purchased the premium plan about a week ago and it seemed to work fine in the beginning. Now it asks me if I want a free trial and what plan I want ever time and it won’t let me use the app. I have tried multiple times and wrote to the contact address. So far nothing. I am beginning to think I paid for nothing.
The thing I like best about this app is that the articles are read by a native speaker speaking at a tempo that would be used in country. I have yet to find an app that does this, although there are probably some that do. Having both the Italian beautifully read, and below a very good English translation is perfect for learning. This is not an app for someone that has no knowledge of the language. But even my rudimentary Italian benefits greatly from hearing the language spoken by a native speaker at the tempo used in Italy. Bravo!!
I have the paid premium version for Spanish and the stories will crash randomly and no amount of pressing the “read” button will re-open the story. I have to swipe the app closed and open again. Just for it to crash again. Also, when doing word matches you can’t see the last two pairs—they are cut off by “game buttons”—so there’s no way to get them all right! I emailed twice now and have not received a reply. I made sure my phone and app were both updated and I still have issues. I think this app could be a great learning resource if I could use it.
The collection of reading content are varied, expansive and interesting. This is the perfect reason why whatever level you are and whatever language you’re learning, you should be getting this app! It’s like a whole library that fits into your pocket with the added bonus of audio and translation side by side. This would be my go-to resource to read on a daily basis. The passages are bite-sized and they come with a short quiz or vocabulary flashcards and more. Things that need improvement: Beelingua needs more choices on the reading voices. I like how Microsoft has this capability when reading pdf. The way you earn a badge is also a little hard to figure out. Sharing on social media must show what a user accomplished, not simply a link to the app. I’m sure I may find more things that need improvement but to me this app is worth downloading if you’re really serious about learning a language. I look forward to more content to enrich my experience! Thank you!
I find reading material in parallel text format to be very helpful in learning a language, but finding resources that offer this can be difficult. I also like how a highlighter curser helps me follow along while the story is being read. And the variety of short stories are just the right length in content. Personally, for me, I don’t do the quizzes, I’m just not interested in them, but they are offered for those who enjoy doing them. Love the short news articles. Thank you for creating this app!
