### ****- "Well worth the price"
It didn’t take long for us to work out how this system works and only have a couple or three grumbles:

1.   When we sync from an iPhone (which we use outdoors in the single apiary we have - around 45 colonies, counting nucs which we sell) we found not all the data synced to the iPad we use indoors. Things like recording a Virgin queen becoming a Mated queen didn’t change. 

     Workaround: we now delete the entire apiary on the iPad before syncing from the iPhone. This works every time.

2.   It would be nice if we could order the To Do list on the Timeline, either alphabetically or, even better, in the order we work through the apiary, but it’s completely random. 

     Workaround: We normally glance through the To Dos but rely on the To Dos in the Apiary - Hives section. Works for us but a bit frustrating sometimes.

3.   Queen Breeding: I know a few people have bemoaned a lack of features for this but we, using a bit of a cheat, get on okay with it. 

      Workaround: We usually graft larvae from our breeder queens into cups installing 20 grafts onto cell bars. We have a ‘hive’ called Zee Incubator and, on the day of grafting, record that there as an ‘inspection’. When we take the queen cells out of the cell raiser and transfer them into the incubator we record that as another inspection. We always include the breeder queen who laid these eggs. Even queen cells, which either pass through the incubator or simply transfer from one hive to another are recorded here, dates and explanations. Then, as the virgin queens are placed in mating nucs each is given a colour and number (the number is random, the colour denotes her bloodline) so Blue45 or Yellow32. Queen cells are not given a number until they begin laying but their colour and dam is recorded on their ‘Incubator Inspection Page’ and updated if they do come into lay. This makes every queen traceable.

   A paper system functioned well with a few hives but I would never want to go back to one. The cost of this system is very reasonable and we applaud the developers for their attention to detail. The fact that it works across several hardware systems (in the same name) is a bonus.

   In a nutshell, well worth purchasing even if you have just one hive multiplied by the number of hives you have.

Good app. Difficult to sort the hives in the app though, so I need to look for a while for the right hive. Archiving feature would help so not active hives are saved there

I really needed an app for my record keeping as I am not good at keeping records. I like this app but the syncing between devises is difficult. I hope an update comes along.

### ***** "Really useful app"
I’m a new beekeeper with 2 hives at the start of spring and now upto 7 hives 3 months later. I found it difficult and messy keeping paper records but this app makes it so much easier. I’m going to print the barcodes to stick on the hives so I just need to scan each hive as I get to them.

Now that all my hives have been entered it should be a breeze to keep good records.

### ****- "Please update and answer emails"
Well been playing about with this for a few months now and yes it’s very good but does have its draw backs.
1: does not imbed pictures.
2: you can’t back up to Mac computer, for easier working.
3: does not support queen rearing.
4: when adding hive to an apiary, you can only add one at a time 😞 not good if you have 20 to 40 in each one.
5: barcodes can only be printed one size BIG, no good these need to be scalable.
If they would take these on board and answer emails it would be the best out there.

I’m a bee inspector and was shown this app by a beekeeper. I like how you can assign equipment. Take aphotos of apiaries, hives and queens unfortunately they don’t save in the app and have to stay on your phone.

I like how at a glance you can see when you made your last inspection and a handy part of the app is you can make to do lists for each hive.

### ***** "Makes inspections easy"
I find using pen and paper to make notes when inspecting a hive difficult – my notes are often illegible and the paper gets in the way. Using my iPhone to take photographs of each hive as I go along,  then using the simple interface on this app means I am actually keeping much better records then I did previously on paper, yet the task seems much less onerous. I use the comments field a lot – I dictate a brief report then add to it once I am back home. I load up any photographs I want to keep – a newly marked Queen, a funny looking play cup that I want to keep an eye on etc , and that gives me a much better sense of my the state of play of my hives than any of my paper records ever did. It is important not to delete any of the photos that you upload – if you delete them in the photo app they are deleted from your hive records: this is a bit of a flaw but only a minor one. For the money I think this is great value and has made hive record keeping much easier.

Great app. After being used for a few months this is a great improvement on written notes. Adding photos really helps too. The traffic light system helps readily identify trends and changes.
