I really needed an app for my record keeping as I am not good at keeping records. I like this app but the syncing between devises is difficult. I hope an update comes along.

I’m a new beekeeper with 2 hives at the start of spring and now upto 7 hives 3 months later. I found it difficult and messy keeping paper records but this app makes it so much easier. I’m going to print the barcodes to stick on the hives so I just need to scan each hive as I get to them. Now that all my hives have been entered it should be a breeze to keep good records.

Well been playing about with this for a few months now and yes it’s very good but does have its draw backs. 1: does not imbed pictures. 2: you can’t back up to Mac computer, for easier working. 3: does not support queen rearing. 4: when adding hive to an apiary, you can only add one at a time 😞 not good if you have 20 to 40 in each one. 5: barcodes can only be printed one size BIG, no good these need to be scalable. If they would take these on board and answer emails it would be the best out there.

I’m a bee inspector and was shown this app by a beekeeper. I like how you can assign equipment. Take aphotos of apiaries, hives and queens unfortunately they don’t save in the app and have to stay on your phone. I like how at a glance you can see when you made your last inspection and a handy part of the app is you can make to do lists for each hive. 👍🏻B

I find using pen and paper to make notes when inspecting a hive difficult – my notes are often illegible and the paper gets in the way. Using my iPhone to take photographs of each hive as I go along, then using the simple interface on this app means I am actually keeping much better records then I did previously on paper, yet the task seems much less onerous. I use the comments field a lot – I dictate a brief report then add to it once I am back home. I load up any photographs I want to keep – a newly marked Queen, a funny looking play cup that I want to keep an eye on etc , and that gives me a much better sense of my the state of play of my hives than any of my paper records ever did. It is important not to delete any of the photos that you upload – if you delete them in the photo app they are deleted from your hive records: this is a bit of a flaw but only a minor one. For the money I think this is great value and has made hive record keeping much easier.

Great app. After being used for a few months this is a great improvement on written notes. Adding photos really helps too. The traffic light system helps readily identify trends and changes.

V useful if like me you are rubbish at paper records. Very flexible and comprehensive. Good search facility.

Well thought out App and easy to use with all the stuff you need. JUST NEEDS SYNC SORTING BETWEEN DEVISES.

The app is very comprehensive in some aspects much of which I don’t use (I always use ‘quick’ inspection). Biggest downside for me is that it doesn’t sync to a desktop app. I expect that would be more cost. But for the price it’s very good.

Brilliant for keeping records of all things to do with beekeeping including your apiary and hive inspections especially better than using paper.
