Best Budget Pro

Not all features are available (the most needed ones are not) and to unlock them you need to pay for the subscription. I think the App should be free and let the customer decide to go with subscription payment or not than a double whammy finding out you paid for a locked app. I prefer a refund as the most useful features need an ongoing payment - I do not see myself using the App often considering this would be an expensive add on cost to tight budget which I might as well spend bit of time using excel and creat a permanent one off solution to cut cost.

I was looking for an app to use as a "virtual envelopes" system (ie so I could keep all cash together in one physical wallet, but know exactly how much I had spent/left for eachg budget item - eg I budget $x a week for dining out, $y a month for movies, etc). This app was by far the best one I found for this purpose. The visuals are simple and clear, yet the system itself is sohisticated. For example: (1) One can select whether a particular budget is a one-off or a r ecurring item (eg I can set my budget for "Movies" to recur monthly). An excellent feature is that - unlike in several other tracker apps I tried - one can specify a custom start date for the cycle (eg I can set my monthly "Movies " budget to start on the 7th rather than the 1st of each month). (2) One can set whether, at the end of a recurring budget's cycle, the balance must be carried for ward to the next cycle or not. (3) One can transfer credit from one budget to another. My one gripe is that the "Help" section (though much more informative than in the "Free" version!) could still be better. For example, there is no information on how to change the order in which budgets are listed (the default is order of creation, but I wanted mine ordered by category). However, the customer support staff were very responsive to an email help request (the answer to ordering budgets being that you press on the button showing 3 parallel bars next to the name of the budget to be resequenced, and you then drag it to its new place in the list). In all, I am delighted with this app. Fully recommend it.

This app has all the basic features of any regular budget app. Buuuut.....I LOVE the new photo feature!! Thank you thank you thank you for adding this feature!!! I like to have copies of my receipts, but without the paper! Comes in handy in case I need to do a quick return or exchange, or if I simply want to track expenses. The best part is that I don't need to clog my photo album with random pictures of receipts. Please note, I am using the pro version. The basic version was fine but I had WAY too many transactions to be limited to the few allowed in the basic version. It was not only practical for what I needed, but wise. Tracking expenses is important to know where your money is going. I can honestly now say this this is THE best budget app EVER!

I’ve used this app for years to keep track of my expenses across different categories. It’s easy to use and a good reference of my monthly spending.

I use it for top level summary, to show under or over my budget per month, now that I’m retired.

I love how straightforward and easy to use Best Budget is. I use it for all our monthly spending, and have done for years. It’s also really useful at the end of the year for working out expenses totals. Love the simplicity, I just wanted a reliable way to track spending. Never had a problem with it, and you can back up to iCloud or Dropbox. Love the new update (October 2022)! I especially like the simplified backup options at the top of Settings. It might be a good idea to put these at the top of the main page to remind you to back up. Update: I've been using Best Budget for about 10 years at least, and it's a fantastic tool for staying on top of your monthly budget. Simple to use and very reliable. It also provides very useful charts of categorized annual spending for your accountant.

The app is good, although developer became exponentially greedier recently. I am getting a paywall to upgrade to the subscription-based version every time I need to make a new entry which is frustrating. I am using a paid version of an app already.

I have had the basic for quite a few years now… easier for me, but now everytime I make an entry it wont stop trying to get me to upgrade. Getting ready to dump it and find a better one. (Unless they remove that)
