The official mobile App for Bestmed Medical Scheme. This free app – specifically developed for Bestmed members – brings you convenient and easy access to your personal healthcare benefits and records. This includes information regarding but not limited to:

• Membership policy Information
• Personal statements
• Correspondence with Bestmed
• Your personal benefits
• Key contact information
• Savings balances
• Tempo Wellness Programme

It also provides you as a member with a range of useful and interactive tools that are consistently advancing.

Info Feed: A list of all recent interactions between yourself and Bestmed. Including records of interactions with contact centre agents, recent statements, claims and pre-authorisations.

Benefits & Savings: Easy to read information regarding your benefit and savings balances that are accessible to view in real-time.

Policy Information: Information regarding your personal policy as well as the Scheme rules.

Submit a query: Submit a query relating to a document in your feed or a general enquiry which will be directly routed to one of our contact centre agents or nurses to assist you further.

Network Healthcare Provider Search: Using GPS location you are able to find family practitioners or specialists close to you. You are also able to search by area.

Submit Claims: Simply snap an image of the invoice and receipt via the app using your phone’s camera, then submit to Bestmed for effective processing.

Savings refunds: Do you have a positive savings balance? You can process your own refunds of any claim shortfalls from your savings. Validated refunds will be automatically paid at our next payment run.

Tempo Wellness Programme: You need a partner in our journey to emotional wellbeing, and this is the role that the Bestmed Tempo programme (and the team behind it) aims to fulfil.

Reviewing the app and not Bestmed themselves. We have recently moved over to Bestmed from another medical aid to get better benefits after hearing really good things. Won’t lie when I say that we’re a bit disappointed in the app. Could definitely be more user friendly and have more features. Would be great to be able to save our medical aid card to Apple Cards and be able to apply for things like the maternity benefit program straight through the app. Hopefully an app revamp will come soon.

Please invest more time and money into the app. Why do you have to take a photo to submit a claim? Where is the upload function? The app is suppose to be a self help solution. Everything is digital these days.

The app works. However, it has quite a few bugs and ugly design. As a software developer myself, I would strongly recommend shifting towards a cross platform tech like Ionic or maybe even Flutter.

I’m a new member of Bestmed, and created a username and password, but when I try to login it just says “Unable to reach server. Please try again.” I’ve been trying again numerous times and even resetting my password doesn’t help. The App DOES NOT WORK!

I have been trying to register for a month now. I have called your offices to check what is wrong. All things were correct, phone number and email address which the app says they cannot be found. I was advised as nauseam to deinstall and reinstall. I have done that with the same result. Last reference number that was given to me was 5923563. I think your ICT department needs to do something about this frustrating situation or abandon the idea of technology completely. It is a 0 rating but since I cannot go beyond the stage of rating without rating, for that sake only I will give it a 1 it does not deserve.

App isn’t user friendly at all. Uploading a claim doesn’t mean they actually received it. Can only see myself in the medical aid and none of my dependents. Links to irrelevant items are front and centre where other important information is difficult to find.
