Finding the right therapist can make a meaningful difference. BetterHelp matches you with a licensed therapist based on your goals, preferences, and location. You can message your therapist anytime and schedule live sessions from wherever you are, online.

LICENSED AND TRAINED THERAPISTS
BetterHelp therapists are licensed professionals with at least 3 years and 1,000 hours of hands-on experience. Our network includes psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, and other similarly credentialed providers. 

All of our therapists hold a Master’s Degree or a Doctoral Degree in their respective fields and have been qualified and certified by their state professional board, having completed the necessary education, exams, training, and practice.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
BetterHelp now offers a wide variety of insurance options. Your cost may vary based on your plan, provider availability, deductible status, and coverage. Eligible members may have an average copay of $23 per session.

Not using insurance? Individual self-pay plans typically range from $70 to $100 per week, billed every 4 weeks, and may vary based on location, preferences, and therapist availability. Your membership includes messaging and weekly live sessions and you can cancel at any time for any reason."

This platform can allow for mental health providers in different states with inadequate licensing in the state that they’re practicing to provide services.  They’re often well meaning, but unqualified.  Look for something more local.

Don’t even hesitate to try this out as a resource for therapy. Very personal; professional and helpful. Give as much information as possible when requesting a connection with a therapist so they can match you up sooner than later. If you don’t feel a connection with your first match - give them a shot to find the right person. I got a great match the first time. Margaret Johnston. Wonderful listener. She really heard me. I am looking forward to working through things I’m struggling to figure out on my own with her guidance.

I got charged 340$ from one provider who was a no show and another i never even met yet? Do not put your card information unless you want to be charged this type of money in the first 2 weeks???

This app/program has connected me with a therapist who is very compatible with my personality and is helping me with my issues. His advice has been instrumental in getting me to understand my issues more thoroughly. I still have a long ways to go but I needed someone to break everything down for me and to gently push me in the right direction. I didn’t need someone to agree with me. I needed someone to tell me how I was misunderstanding my situation and feelings and show me a good path. For me and my wife.

### **--- "Affordable when needed, but not quality care"
I was able to get a very affordable care when I changed jobs and desperately needed someone to talk to. But I was met with an epitomal metaphor to gig economy. A weird somewhat unprofessional vibe with a person who wasn’t really qualified to hear my issues and deal with them. The people I met with were nice, but I didn’t feel comfortable pouring my feelings out to someone with pets running around disrupting the session. 

Afforable but not quality, all about getting people in (or so it felt)
