The PBSC app worked flawlessly but this app isn’t working for me. I’ve requested a password reset and they never got back to me despite several attempts. The customer support is MIA…
I was very apprehensive that this was going to be an upgrade. Very pleasantly surprised so far. Major UI improvement, updates in real time. Had some account issues being unable to receive a password reset email with the new app, but was able to change passwords using the old app. I echo other reviews, the lack of an ability to generate an unlock code at the dock is a major oversight. In a perfect world we wouldn’t need this, however so many damaged QR codes and numbers on e-bikes in the fleet which are unable to be read by the scanner.
Most importantly, missing the code generation feature. Given how many QR codes and bike numbers are illegible this is super important. GPS seems to lose my location frequently and I need to force close and re-open the app for it to work. Not being able to see dock availability and bike availability at the same time is kind of annoying. I know there’s a toggle but it feels clunky. Not being able to buy a single ride or day pass for a friend seems like a major miss, the argument “have your friend make their own account” will be the reply but for a friend visiting town for a weekend isn’t going to download a new app and make an account, enter credit card details etc just for a ride or two. We just take the TTC instead. I will be using the old app for now until some of these are addressed, even if it’s slower and crashes sometimes.
ride history stats BACKLOADED, 200% better UI, better app performance. finally a world class app for a world class bike share system.
Old app worked perfectly fine and there was no reason to change it. This app doesn’t recognize my email and now has locked me out of my account.
I have paid for a yearly plan last October. I walk up to unlock a bike and the account is suspended. No explanation why. The only option I have is to call their support line. I do that and while on hold I get an automated message saying that if the account is suspended that I should update my card details VIA THE WEBSITE. I do that on mobile. I all of a sudden get charged $10. I stay on the line and a rep picks up. I explain that I do not see any old or upcoming unpaid or paid transactions that account for those $10. She says that she sees a charge from October of me having overused my bike. I again explain that I do not see any such charges even as pending. She explains that the charge happened 7 minutes ago and that I may have to wait a few days (?!?!) to see it. HOW DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE THAT TRANSACTIONS SINCE OCTOBER THAT WERE UNPAID CANNOT EVEN BE SEEN IN THE ACCOUNT? And whoever came up with this “suspend their account, don’t tell them why, make them call a support line and then give them an explanation while on hold” deserves to be lynched along with their whole family.
Great improvement over the old app
Very confusing. So previous identification Apps to be trashed ? Real reason is to force riders to use their phones only to get access to bikes ? Advantage is all to software programmer ? Decline in service this year has been directly attributable to software programs. Annual renewal approaches.
The PBSC app worked fine for me overall so I wasn’t itching for a new app. First off this app has a really nice clean you I design. A few things, however our would need some improvement. - saved lists is a nice feature would be great if it could indicate what types of bikes are on from the list view - Also the colour indication/like fill icon from the previous PBSC app was really strong. I really would love to see them incorporate it in this new version. - At a glance it looks like it’s harder to get help if a bike isn’t working. The phone number isn’t on the app - I gave the app access to my location, but it’s still doesn’t open up at my location Pros overall though I love that I can see my history of my rides. it’s cool that I can link this to the Health app if I want to. Still need to try it out when I’m picking up a bike soon.
