BirdLife Australia’s Birdly app is a game changer for Australian bird identification for beginners and experts alike. The Birdly app is not just a bird book on your phone, it is Australia’s first bird identification guide specifically designed and built as an app only. It is making the most of cutting-edge AI technology for bird image (700+ species) and sound recognition (60+ species) as well as 200 videos and 200 images in 3D. Free Basic Version Birdly is the only bird app that provides text and plates for all 747 species occurring regularly in Australia for free. This includes colour plates that have been developed specifically for the app and have been richly annotated to make identification easier. They are underpinned by a search functionality including size, status, comparison of up to 16 similar species etc. to help find and ID birds quickly. The distribution maps have been informed by the work of thousands of BirdLife volunteers monitoring birds nationwide using our Birdata survey app. The free version also allows you to keep your own sightings list. Subscription for Songs and AI features supports BirdLife conservation work. For additional features including the songs of 840 birds and AI driven image and sound recognition a subscription is required. This also unlocks an additional 191 vagrant birds and thus covers a total of 938 bird species! This also opens up popular and fun features such as videos showing typical behaviours for over 200 species and 3D bird images for 200 species. The 3D images can also be used in augmented reality to visualize birds in life size in the landscape. All features can be tested for free before purchase. BirdLife receives 10% of the profits of every subscription for bird conservation. With its interactive features Birdly is particularly attractive for kids and young families keen to explore their backyard and the great outdoors. BirdLife Australia - Save Birds. Save Life. BirdLife Australia is the country’s oldest and largest national bird conservation organisation. Since 1901 we have been leading the way in bird conservation. We work tirelessly to recover the most threatened wild bird species and restore local environments. BirdLife has over 300,000 supporters and thousands of volunteers working in our on-ground conservation and monitoring programs. We have a proud history in bird research that saw us produce the Handbook of Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds and the first continent wide bird atlas anywhere in the world amongst other research. Today we are probably best known for Australia’s largest Citizen Science event the Aussie Bird Count held every year in October. The Birdly app will prove a useful companion for every birdcount participant. It’s more a “brand new app” than an “update”. Great job on the filters, the comparisons, and the single bird view enhancements! -- MartiBlaa, 2024-10-03 ### ****- "Sync?" I can't get the app to sync between my iphone and ipad. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Also, Trackside Tony, last April, asked that when entering photos, the app could return us to the last photo used instead of back to the beginning of the photos. This would be so helpful. I'm surprised you haven't taken this on board. Otherwise, I'm enjoying this app. It has a few glitches, but you seem to be ironing them out. Thanks! -- Rw333, 2024-09-18 ### ***** "The future" The ID feature from sound or image is pretty amazing. -- Simsurf69, 2024-09-05 ### **--- "Refund" I am not that tech savvy so find this app very hard to navigate and use by the time I have figured it out the bird is gone and as far as saving information until I have service well it doesn’t happen. Can I please have a refund. I am sure if I was smart enough this app would be very good. -- Trakers, 2024-08-22 ### ****- "Modern app for birdwatching in Australia" This is a great app for birdwatchers of all types. The illustrations and annotations are detailed well. The drill-down approach is useful for browsing similar species. Opportunities for improvement include providing links to information contained in HANZAB, being able to organise the view by the likely species in your current location, and general usability. The app will be useful in conjunction with others including PK Birds and AusBirds (both of which are older style apps more reminiscent of their field guides), and Merlin and eBird. Overall, a good addition to the birding app landscape. -- smachet, 2024-08-01 ### ****- "Finally" Finally an Australian Bird App Accuracy is wonderful Well worth the annual subscription -- Bom72, 2024-07-31 ### ****- "Exciting bird ID experience" Unique bird ID app with some huge potential. I especially like the 3D view and augmented reality features as this is a great way for users to get a better understanding of the birds size and physical attributes. I’ve found it to be a little glitchy at times, but no doubt these issues will be addressed over time. -- Em_Fitzy, 2024-07-09 ### ***-- "Free trial but with all the features" Downloaded app as it offered 7 day Free Trial, but cannot test all the features like Bird Sound library which is locked. So unable to fully assess this app before paying for it. If it’s time limited trial then why is it still locked. -- Petyr Baelish, 2024-06-30 ### ***** "Review for twitchers" The works quickly, features are eayy to use, and a strike rate with recordings -- wontgivemeaname, 2024-06-28 [View all Birdly reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Birdly In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | All in one package – annual | $29.99 | | Bird Sounds AU Annual Subscr. | $6.99 | | All in one package – monthly | $3.99 | ## Birdly Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Grossing | Australia | Reference | #61 | | Top Free | Australia | Reference | #88 | ## Birdly Discovered Keywords -
