## bitchat mesh Reviews in United States

### *---- "Bluetooth required👎"
App NOW required Bluetooth? Today Hackers are using Bluetooth an I live fairly lived area (suburb) an the use of Bluetooth is no used unless it’s a emergency.
-- Jezzy M.D., 2026-07-10

### *---- "Don’t bother"
Update 7/9/26: Some friends got the app to “work” but are not getting notifications of messages. Notifications of people on the app in the vicinity appear on the lock screen, but never any notifications when a message appears. This makes the app utterly USELESS.

Good idea, but it rarely works. Will not recognize others even just a few feet away. Update 9/14 - has stopped recognizing any other devices, no matter what is tried. Deleting. Got a developer response. Thank you for responding. It read as follows: “would love to understand your setup. i have not seen this behavior. " The only problem is, I still have no way to contact them. They did not leave an email or phone number, and there is none I can find on the developer link. I would love to help, but there is no way to do so. Update: 1/14/26 - they keep adding functionality, but the app still does not work - at all. Nice idea, but very poorly executed. Deleting.
PS - Would even pay for it if it actually worked, it is such a great idea. Sadly, it simply does not work.

### ***** "So good I’m writing a review for an App for the first time in my life"
It does exactly what it claims. No having to create an account, no real setup process of any kind, no ads. You just download it and you are off to the races immediately. It is insanely intuitive to the extent that I believe my grandmother could probably figure it out in less than 15 minutes. Love that it uses tor. And lastly you don’t have to just use the mesh. You can also use geohash channels if you so desire. Instant 5 stars I look forward to seeing what comes next in the future.
-- Insertnicknamehere3, 2026-06-29

### ***** "This is the future"
Fantastic app. Feels like it’s out of a psyfi movie. Works fantastically and instantly. We juts got to get ppl to use it now
-- basiltree, 2026-06-26

### ***** "Very useful at crowded events"
Used this app to talk to my friend at a music festival when cell towers were jammed. The range is disappointing but when we were able to connect chatting worked just fine. Five stars since the range issue isn’t the app’s fault
-- Trub0, 2026-06-17

### ***** "Cool concept… need more people to get on!"
This is a very cool concept. It kinda reminds me of mIRC with a modern twist. The BT offline chat function is awesome.
-- Rolo_Tomassi, 2026-06-13

### ***** "Does it relay?"
The old firechat would eventually deliver a message to the recipient if they weren’t in range. This is such an important app. A true lifesaver!
-- Qt2054, 2026-06-12

### ***** "Very nice"
Firstly, out of all bluetooth mesh messenger apps, this is the only one which is still consistently updated and supported. Secondly, not only is it a bluetooth mesh messenger, but it is also a very secure Tor messenger. There are not a ton of people online, but if you search around for a while you will find a few; in that sense, it reminds me of transmitting messages over radio or the like. The entire system requires no account or password or anything like that, is free, and is entirely secure, so long as you take a second to think about what it is you're sending! Overall, I enjoy the app, and hope it finds more users. As for mesh messaging: If ever you need to communicate with others while you have no Internet connection, this is ABSOLUTELY the only app to reasonably consider, and it works very well, even over relatively long distances; and of course, if you do have an Internet connection, you can talk to people around the world.
-- fayfoxxhearts, 2026-05-21

### ***** "Very slick and powerful tool"
I use this to chat with my family when we camp in remote areas. It works very well. I do wish somehow it could run in the background for relaying and receiving messages. iOS seems to stop the app from running after a few minutes of inactivity.
-- tekdout, 2026-05-13

### ***** "It really works"
This thing blows my mind. It works, and works well. This performs similar to expensive LoRa packet mesh devices, except it’s free. It handles voice, text, and photos — exchanging with the same app on other iPhones. We use it on plane trips when we have people scattered in different parts of the plane. It uses low power Bluetooth — no need for WiFi or Internet . I haven’t checked max range but probably won’t work, say, on a cruise ship.
-- alhearn, 2026-05-09

-- Sea_1011, 2026-05-07

### ***-- "Considering Using App but unsure about its security and safety."
I’ve read about the app having numerous serious security issues. I see in the version history that fixes from a 3rd party security audit were implemented. Where can I find this audit and its results?
-- X Anon, 2026-04-28

### ***** "ملاحظتي:"
التطبيق روعه و وايد حلو وانصح تحميله بس صعب شوي
-- Nassero Smart, 2026-04-11

### ****- "работает только блютуз канал, как дальше подключать других?"
работает только блютуз канал, как дальше подключать других?
-- sodiumdf, 2026-03-13

### ***-- "Slightly lagged while typing"
..
-- qutaiba.db, 2026-03-03

### **--- "App stops working after sometime"
If the app is backgrounded for a few hours it will stop working. Needs to be restarted and then it can send/recieve again
.
-- Sweet Tea 31, 2026-02-07

### **--- "Does it use cell connection ?"
iPhone Settings show cell connection is on by default do this app, not sure why.
Also very unreliable, notifications are hit or miss and stared contacts will disappear and verified contacts will loose their verification status after a few hours.
-- wtangofoxtrot, 2026-02-06

### ****- "Bruh"
I downloaded it and no one is using it where I am
-- palidromemordilap, 2026-02-05

### *---- "DUDE WHERE'S MY CHANNELS"
Why are /j and /channels commands unavailable?? I can chat with peers in #mesh but that's it. And why is the UI so different from the Android version with different icons and options?
-- Nepping, 2026-01-29

### ***** "Low-key this is really good"
Offline messenger. Perfect. I get to talk to all my friends on the bus now.
