BitDefender has made it extremely easy to transition to SecurePass, but I recommend making the change from a desktop, laptop, or tablet vice a phone to enable working between tabs (BitDefender Central dashboard and their walkthrough in another tab) during the transition. It’s not a requirement; but if you need to use their guide or would like to reference it as you migrate from one app to SecurePass then I recommend it. While many users highlight issues that emerged predominantly in May, BitDefender has regularly updated the app to correct customer complaints. Most if not all initial bugs have since been resolved or were identified as a user’s misunderstanding of what features they had enabled or disabled in the app. Customer service is clearly attentive on all app stores and their own forums based on their responses, suggestions, and requests for additional information to most customer reviews. If you have a unique issue, they want to hear about it so they can correct it. Despite the changes and an effort to help, reviews do not accurately reflect the current state of the app in August 2025. If you enjoyed the previous iteration of Password Manager then you will very likely enjoy this app more for the improvements noted above. However, the top review is correct in stating this app requires an internet connection to access your stored information. This is a feature, not a bug, directly related to how BitDefender stores your information securely and synced across all devices that use the software for ease of use and access via a cloud architecture. If you require your information offline, which for most people is a niche but not impossible scenario, there are alternative products that do offer on-device storage. It would be advisable to research those products and weigh the pros and cons of cloud vs. on-device storage against your individual needs. This app relies on and internet connection in order to retrieve the passwords you save, yet will often inexplicably be unable to connect to the internet. The app should be a stand alone app on the device itself. It’s also very strange that both in the mobile and desktop versions of the app you’ll frequently be signed out of your account completely only to have to sign back into that and you “vault” which has its own unique password. So now in order to access your passwords you have to remember 2 of them, and even if you make the vault password the same as your account password, you’ll have to put it in twice. It's cloud only and doesn't provide an option for local storage (i.e., gaps in access to passwords if their cloud isn't working) It's slow Import and managing passwords from other wallets is poor Authentication options are lacking. Kind of shocking given they are an internet security company. You basically need to know your bitdefender password AND your wallet password. You can't set a pin, etc I regularly have to log back in, and it will regularly break The browser add-on is terrible. I've had to remove it 100x and add it back to get it working. The browser add-on makes you log back in all the time. Also has loading an connectivity issues.
