ABOUT STEPHAN KESTING AND GRAPPLEARTS.COM

My name is Stephan Kesting and I’ve been doing martial arts for more than 37 years.

The grappling arts have been my main focus for about 25 of these years, and now I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and also a certified instructor in Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling.

In addition to the grappling qualifications, I’m also a black belt in Kajukenbo Karate, an instructor in Dan Inosanto’s Jun Fan JKD, Maphalindo Silat, and the Filipino Martial Arts program. I’ve studied Japanese Judo, Russian Sambo, various Chinese Kung Fu systems, Brazilian Capoeira, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and many other martial arts.

I’m not bringing up those qualifications to boast. The reason I mentioned them is to establish that I’ve been around the scene, trained with a lot of different people, and have a good understanding of the challenges that grapplers face on the mats everyday.

I know quality and can recognize stuff that really works when I see it.

Grapplearts is my company and we’ve been online since 2002. That’s a long time, and we’ve produced a ton of instructional products, continuously refining how the material gets taught and presented in order to make it easier to learn.

The goal is to get you the best information in the easiest-to-learn format, period!

## BJJ Master App by Grapplearts Reviews in United States

### ***** "App vs website"
I enjoy Stephen Kestings videos. I particularly like the fact that he invites other instructors in to help out with the videos and I think they’re a good value for money.

My biggest problem is that you buy one video and if you try to restore your purchase on your iPhone or your iPad it won’t download. Fortunately, customer service has been very helpful. I’m hoping that at some point it will just be easier to purchase the content and it applies to all of the platforms but for now if you’re going to buy something and want it on your iPhone, I recommend that you just purchase it through the app. Regardless, I think the company really cares about its customers so it’s worth five stars in my book.

### ***** "Grapplearts"
Stephan is a great instructor. You can really learn a lot of practical, actionable stuff from the courses and materials accessible through this app.

### ***** "Detailed, well paced instruction that’s crunchy"
Stephan Kesting’s instructional style really pops in this app. He presents a useful blend of techniques across different instructors and approaches to the mental and physical game of jiu-jitsu. There is enough here for novices and higher belts to study and use on the mat.
-- mynameismichael, 2021-10-12

### ***** "You can trust Stephan"
I’ve been watching Stephan’s YouTube channel for a while, but wasn’t sure about paying for courses. But I’m so glad I did! I’m now on my third course and each one has been thorough and well-organized. Stephan is a gifted teacher and excellent course creator. Recommended!

### ***** "Outstanding content in a streamlined application"
I have been extremely happy with Stephan Kesting’s instructional content offered online and through this application.

Within the application, skills and concepts are broken down into bite-size chunks that are well organized and offer a comprehensive, cumulative approach to the topics. This makes it easy to pull up the application before practice to get a quick review of details without having to wade through hours of recorded video or all the YouTube tabs left open on my phone - it also saves me from carrying my DVD player around.
While Stephan brings in world-class experts to teach each series (Fabio Gurgel to teach pressure passing, for example), one of my favorite things about the videos is that, after each lesson, Stephan asks all the questions that would occur to someone watching the videos and further breaks down the minutiae of each lesson.
Overall, I would say that the attention to detail in the instructionals - along with the organization and accessibility provided by the application - has helped me diversify my skillset and become a more effective practitioner on the mats.
10/10: would recommend to anyone looking to polish their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

### ***** "Great instructor, great content"
Stephan is an outstanding instructor. More intellectual than your average BJJ gorilla, but also doesn’t require a protractor and thesaurus like Danaher. Great blend of charisma, profound knowledge and an easy-to-digest teaching style. The app has a nice balance of free content and paid content—you sort of know when you’re to fork over a few bucks for a paid module, each of which as a ton of great stuff. Stephan also brings along some great guest instructors (I highly recommend his BJJ formula module with Rob Biernacki—I could (and probably will) chew on just that content for years). All of Stephan’s Grapplearts work is top notch, and an outstanding supplement to your regular training. Oss!
-- jsa8654, 2020-01-08

### ***** "Best BJJ/grappling app around"
Stephan’s instructionals are both excellent in quality and clarity. In particular I recommend to all my fellow BJJ practitioner to buy the Rob Biernacki BJJ Formula. It will not only be informative in and of itself, but also it will level up your use of any other BJJ instructionals, you’ll get more out of free YouTube instructions and out of all your other purchased BJJ sources.
-- The DOS, 2019-11-27

### ***** "Top tier instruction!!"
I have been following Stephens work for at least 5 years now and he has assembled some of the hands down best BJJ instructors from North America and Brazil to teach on his app all excellent content and excellent customer service !!!
-- Ruby_Shmurda, 2019-11-13

### ***** "Great app. Great content"
Stephan’s instructions are always very clear and easy to understand. The production quality is excellent and the app is well designed. Stephan is a talented instructor who knows BJJ and knows how to explain it and demonstrate it. I have no affiliation with him. I just really appreciate the quality of the content he puts out online.
