## BJJ Purple Belt Requirements Description
The rank of purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is the gateway to the advanced game. It cannot be defined by a list of techniques, but instead requires a combination of skills.

In "Purple Belt Requirements," Roy Dean outlines his skill requirements for the rank, and gives viewers a template for the “game” of BJJ, which they can then change and personalize.

Submissions and strategies from the mount, side mount, guard and back positions are covered, as well as lower body submissions and guard passing. Sparring footage, rank demonstrations, and guidelines for growth on your BJJ journey are also included.

Chapters:

What Makes A Purple Belt?
Positions of the Game
Passing the Guard
BJJ Guidelines
Rolling Examples
Kuwait Seminar
Competitions
Demonstrations

“Purple Belt Requirements is a new kind of instructional. Almost every other instructional is a long compilation of techniques, sometimes (but not always) arranged in some kind of structure, with the instructor methodically working their way through the details. In his new offering, Roy Dean takes a conceptual approach instead, where the techniques fit into an overall philosophy for purple belt, the most important element of which is the need to learn how to combine techniques into a flowing sequence..”

-Can Sönmez
Slidey’s Training Log

“In the end, this dvd is about the “next thing”. Flowing to the next move with misdirection and momentum, being aware of what options present themselves before they appear. When I started bjj, it was like magic and I wanted to know what was behind the curtain. This dvd begins to shine a light on the elements that make bjj so special.”

-Paul Pedrazzi
BJJ Norcal

Roy Dean holds black belts in several arts, including Judo, Aikido, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is renown for his precise technique and clear instruction.

## BJJ Purple Belt Requirements Reviews in United States

### ***** "Please fix my app!"
I love my Roy Dean Apps, but it crashes automatically after the new software update.
-- Phi Alpha, 2014-12-02

### ***** "Awesome! But it doesn't work anymore:("
All Dean's stuff is top quality!
Unfortunately, I just got a new iPhone 6 last weekend & this app just crashes as soon as open it:'(
-- Joe_B., 2014-11-28

### ***** "Amazing as always!"
I have the Blue belt and Brown belt guides by Roy Dean. Amazingly put together. Most likely you have seen many of the techniques presented, but stringing the techniques together is where the action is. Dean knows how to string techniques together. I have watched the app everyday since I bought it and my game has seriously improved.
-- Paul Dirac, 2012-06-19

### ***** "Help"
The sound is not working on the apps I have from your school. They worked but after I installed the update that feature is not working n my iPad 2 running the current iOS
-- JiuJitsuJason, 2012-02-08

### ***** "Vegas"
Excellent!!!!
-- Rafavegas, 2011-12-11

### ***** "Great App"
I have both the purple and blue belt app. Well worth the money.
-- Kal-el7783, 2011-05-28

### ***** "Worth the money"
This is money well spent. Have you ever went to a BJJ clinic or took a private lesson and forgot half the information covered? This is like going to a BJJ clinic and being able study it over and over. I have the blue belt video too. Both aps are great. Think of this as a $24 private lesson. You can't beat the price. Enjoy!
-- Tornadeaun, 2011-03-28

### ***** "Roy Dean"
Any app by Roy Dean, I recommend. His teaching abilities is by far one of the best. Great with details and providing many options from different positions. He has the best Jiu Jitsu app in the app store.
-- Gallywags, 2011-02-13

### ***** "Is this a great APP? Ya Mon!!!"
This APP is awesome. I bought it when it was $40 bucks and it was still worth it at that price. Roy has a knack for explaining without boring you to death. Efficient teaching style and all of the moves are highly effective. There are no flashy gomer-plata to knee bite reversals only high percentage moves that works. I have been doing BJJ for 12 years and I still got a lot out of this APP. Roy puts out great stuff.
