### **--- "Good start, bad pricing"
I’ve wanted this app for a long time so I was excited when it was announced. The app itself is a good start but needs a ton of polish and features to get me way from audible. 

As an avid audiobook consumer I’m really disappointed. The pricing is insane, what on earth are you thinking? North of £20+ for the audio book with Audible at £7.99 a token or cheaper to buy. Even the ebooks are more expensive than the physical ones. 

Sticking with Audible for now until these prices drop or GW remove their books from Audible - then it’s to the physical ones because the prices on here are crazy high.

Very rudimentary ebook and audiobook player. No CarPlay is a huge problem as it’s where I do much of my listening, no sync of positions between device also makes it significantly less useful. 

Basically it’s the Books app, but only for Black Library, and much less good. What the heck are they thinking?

It’s amusing how many reviews boil down to “not what I want.”

Sure, a sleep timer would be a great addition, and a bit more polish in places wouldn’t hurt. There’s definitely room for improvement, and audiobook pricing isn’t the most competitive.

That said, the app itself is a big step in the right direction and genuinely enjoyable to use. I’d personally rate it 4 stars—but gave it 5 to offset some of the overly negative takes.

Hoping GW will take feedback onboard about the new app - the audio listener needs a sleep timer, and there need to be more options for arranging the titles in the library. Also, the app needs to manage language setting better. Having titles appear in all available languages is going to be unhelpful to most users. While I understand the desire to bring black into one place, this app is going to have to compete against Audible and Kindle, and it’s quality of life and user interface design that will be the key metric on whether or not people choose to use this app. As of now (late March 2026) the UI is not competitive.

Bitterly disappointed in this app and what’s been done to the black library, I can’t purchase books and read them on my kindle through the app or the website anymore, and I hate reading books on my iPad, I’m now forced to buy them if I buy them through another vendor, on top of that the App Library displays my collection in the worst way I have to scroll and scroll to find one book! Why not tiled like the rest of the app?

Please add a ‘resume reading’ tab as it’s a bit annoying having to scroll down to the book in my library each time I open the app. Otherwise, it’s working well for me.

Truly an awful app, all books in tonnes of different languages, nothing in the right place, over priced, honestly makes no sense, just get them on audible or kindle for cheaper and a better deface, wish GW couldn’t learn from their mistakes but they never do
