While the execution of the current storyline in Blindscape is phenomenal, with it being such a unique concept and controls, the storyline left me wanting so much more. It’s literally so short, I finished it in less than 10 minutes and most of that time was listening to this protagonist monologue and drop hints about a climax and just the hope of more worldbuilding that never really happened. They give the player SO much random bits of worldbuilding and backstory, only for nothing to come of it. Everything stated in the description here that you read before even playing the game is pretty much the only semblance of plot/development that the world and protagonist receive. Again, I reiterate, this concept is wonderful and I loved the use of sound to orient the player. I would definitely recommend playing with headphones, it makes the experience much more realistic. Even with that said, I just found the story lackluster and somewhat unbelievable at times. For example, if the protagonist has barely left their room since losing their sight, how can they navigate so well? It left me with so many questions and just made me want to develop it more. I’m sure there is a larger plot here, and even if the story isn’t plot based and is meant to be some sort of abstract metaphor, this should be made more full and obvious. Still, it was an interesting experience! I hope it will be further developed in the future.
It’s great.
This is a really great concept, seeing the world through a blind persons perspective. It was a great game but I feel like it was way too short. I would definitely recommend it if you don’t want to sit down for hours straight to try and finish it lol.
Awesome game but can’t get the song in the US
I wish the song was able to be put out into America this soundtrack is addicting the game itself is sad but at the same time it’s very relaxing I very much recommend this game!!!
incredible.
Please make more! The story and concept is amazing, I just wish there was more to play! Adding a way to pause it may be nice too.
I’m speechless
This game is beyond beautiful. When I first tried it out, I thought it was a silly game but once I dived deeper into the character’s world it really began to open my eyes (no pun intended). I highly recommend this game.
Amazing !!
I really loved this game !! Having to just use your sense of hearing to imagine what's going on and navigate around was really fun :D Although this game was very short which was a little upsetting, it was really enjoyable. This really made you use your imagination and it was super fun I totally recommend downloading this !!
Great idea for some people
This is a beautiful idea for a game, representing a community you don’t see much in games, especially not the focus of the game. I would just like to say that if you have over-stimulation issues or have issues with depression or suicide I would be careful. Since this game is sound focused and being blind enhances all your other senses, as someone with over-stimulation issues this was a little overwhelming, but a beautiful game despite the warnings. If you think you can handle it I would totally go for it!
Personally it felt so real
The sounds were so high quality, the story with emotion but also plot that actually goes somewhere, I love short narrations/stories like this. Also the genre, like post utopic/dystopic?
Despite it being a bit short and I also was wondering whether there was a save or pause button, having more dark space certainly made things a lot more immersive, and it has a powerful impact I think. It was very satisfying to go through
Thanks devs!!
Loved it. Just wish there was more
I absolutely loved this game. I didn’t think I would when I started it but it was really cool. Since it was a blank screen I just closed my eyes and listened and it seem to make the game that more real. The only thing I wish that were different is if it was longer. Went more into detail about the things he said. A full fledged game story like this would be awesome and I’d definitely play it.
Storyline
I love the communication in the game and the storyline. I highly recommend this game!
