Thanks for the vote
How much does Blink Shell cost?
Blink Shell has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is £13.99.
I’ve been using Blink Classic for many years, and it truly ticks all the boxes for me in terms of performance, stability, and features. I’ve tried other apps from the App Store, but they often have issues like freezing or messing up the terminal. The subscription for Blink+ looks reasonable given the quality of the software but would like to see a few more features for that price.
Another subscription NO!
Can developers stop this subscription model nonsense
Unreasonable
Monthly subscription for running GitHub code spaces browser app
Broken
Opened app, forced to pay and then after starting free week it would crash and then force it again. Cancelled and will not return
Cant use the App I paid for
Thanks for the betrayal, I will make sure to avoid this developer in the future.
To anyone who is willing to try: Don’t get too attached as your subscription may triple overnight, and this app won’t work unless you bend over to its greed.
Ruined by subscription
Forced to switch from the excellent old app because it’s been intentionally hobbled to force people into subscribing. Ruined by greed.
Forced upgrade after buying previous version
I downloaded the version I bought to be greeted with a prompt telling me to get the new version, that I would be able to use all the same features as before, the app I bought appears to be an advert now for this version as it’s no longer functioning.
So I download the new version, ready to use the same features as before but I’m greeted by a prompt that gives me two choices:
1 - Pay $10 a month for a digital ocean droplet I don’t want.
2 - Pay $20 a year to use the app I already bought.
I hit the restore purchase button thinking maybe this is how I get the original functionality back, it didn’t do anything though.
$20 a year isn’t going to break the bank or anything, but I’m not impressed I’m told I can keep using the features I had before when it clearly isn’t true.
What the…
I’ve used this app for years but it seems to want me to pay for a subscription now. No thanks, this isn’t what I paid for.
Subscription needed - time to uninstall
This used to be my goto app, but since the subscription model came in I can no longer justify the cost. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a freeloader and have paid substantial /one-off/ amounts for "pro" versions of other apps that I felt were valuable, but I can't afford the subscription.
Forced Upgrade
The version i paid for is now unusable. I wouldn’t be too bothered but i did pay £20 for this app. It is now asking me to purchase another version or a monthly subscription. Sad to see how this has played out for greed. I will move to another app.
