Mostly very dull and flat. I regret subscribing. I’m not sure who would find this kind of thing useful. An electronic version of the old Readers Digest condensed novels. At times pronunciation really exposes the machine behind the extraordinary renditions.
I can’t use this app. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling and it still crashes.
I loved this app to start off with, but the use of AI voice readers is killing the app. The Devs need to offer an option/filter to only select human readers and give subscribers the choice.
After listening to three books I am getting rid of this. Voices are non-human, summaries are useless and quite boring.
Aug ‘24 .. still a good app with regular updates. Some functionality I’m just not interested in as I just want a quite calming reading experience where I can leave the growing mess that is internet behind. Overall Blinkist is quite good for this but recently I am finding the UI is not feeling quite as smooth flowing as was .. and I have been experiencing multiple crashes mid-read, I struggle to get rid of the audio reader tab at the bottom of the screen and when scrolling the text movement is jerky / jumpy which is REALLY distracting and annoying (Maybe the latest release fixes this?) but overall the concept is good. My wish is to focus solidly on performance and smooth calming user experience and don’t just add unnecessary functions for the sake of it —— 31 January : I was just about to update this review to say the app still does not work but thought I would delete and reinstall .. and now it works :) … so if anyone is having issues on ipad, this action may be worth a shot! ——— Have been using for nearly year and is overall pretty good. Works well is simple and clear and above all adds value. Where the detail is not enough then I have enough information to make an informed decision about whether to order the full book or not. Great 👍
Learning new things in small bite size chunks is something useful for my life. I love the way the blinks have been put together with the right amount of information to start further investigation and thinking.
Sounds wonderful, offers you a discount and then you have no option but to sign up to another deal which makes you sign up again before you even get started . I am unsubscribing. It may be a great app but not very user friendly to start out.
I like the content and the idea, however the app logs me out every few days and I’m deleting as I’m fed up of always having to log back in
This is a great idea. A 15 - 30 minute summary (and well written too) of a book we always meant to read appeals to those of us with social media induced attention deficit syndrome. Unfortunately, poor synchronisation between the audio and highlighted text spoils the experience. My eyes and ears are constantly confusing my poor brain as it flits between text and audio. This make it almost in unbearable to use. I cant recommend it.
The app is not working for me and they are not giving me a refund. I am saying that my subscription is NOT working and I am unable to use your app! The least you could do is to offer me a full refund for this unpleasant and frustrating experience, let alone offering me a compensation! They have a terrible customer service and they responded to me that they will not refund me for a service that is not working after 1 month of wasting my time and replying very late. Very disappointing service!!
