This app is a CLIENT for the Blue Iris Windows PC software. In order to make use of this app, you must have Blue Iris version 5 installed and running on a Windows PC or VM. Instructions for connecting this app to the PC software are found in the Remote Access chapter of its Help file.
This app provides a single point of contact to your home camera network. There is no need to insecurely open individual cameras to the Internet. This app connects using a secure and session-based protocol--no passwords are transmitted in plain text.
Remote access does require router configuration or NGROK, which you can test without the app by using Safari. You should see your Blue Iris login page.

Quality and utility slipped a lot
Since the introduction of BI 5 I have not been able to connect remotely, up until then it worked well. Neither has the UI interface connected.
Others have had the same problem as shown on the users forum.
I am not an IT specialist, although I know my way around installing and configuring programmes like BI.
Emails to service center are met with one line comments, that are next to useless. Basically, BI 5 has reduced functionality for many users.
I installed an alternative, used the same server, modem and devices and it clicked in and did its job.
Shame, but BI overall quality has slipped - a lot.
Great app
I find this much simpler to use than blue iris itself. It’s so easy to see what’s going on around my business and see and find events. I use it multiple times a day as it just so quick and easy.
