Sound detection is surprisingly good
When I practice some specific sounds such as “th”, my sounds are sometimes judged as “z”. But I’m sure that’s not 100% “z” but maybe 70% “z”. When I pronounced almost the same sound, I could get “th”. By this system, it’s sometimes hard to feel improved because the results are not stable.
I signed up for 7 days free trial and set up reminder before trial end. BoldVoice didn’t send me reminder but charged me $199. My free trial start from Jan 10 to Jan 17. I requested to refund on Jan 17. I hope they can refund me the money because this app seems not helpful for me.
Very helpful ❤️❤️❤️
I guess no one is really interested in learning American accent. If you add British accent I am definitely going to subscribe.

Definitely recommend it.
The app enforces an unnatural approach to English pronunciation that ignores linguistic diversity. Requiring schwa sounds to be rhoticized ([ɚ]) and /ɔ/ in words like coffee to be pronounced as [a] is overly rigid and not reflective of standard American English. Penalizing natural phonological processes like flapping (butter as [ˈbʌɾɚ]) or elision undermines fluency, while demanding hyperarticulated consonants prioritizes microphone recognition over real-world speech. This approach imposes unrealistic standards, making it counterproductive for learners aiming for authentic communication.
The app is super useful, but the subscription options are very limited. I think I would like to buy monthly subscription rather than yearly.
The lessons are good but this would not help South Asians who do not have many variations of several letters in the native languages. I bought the app to improve my accent but this app has killed my confidence and made me not to speak. Once you fail a few times to make certain sounds, the app tries selling you private lessons which are quite costly (like any other private lessons). I am a South Asian who studied English for my B.A. (and learned British English/phonetics. I purchased the app to learn precisions of American English.
