## Book Art Pattern Maker Description
Book art turns hardcover books into bold and sophisticated art pieces. Sometimes called 'Book Origami', book folding can be a surprisingly easy and peaceful form of meditation. Following simple patterns, anyone can create beautiful and unique gifts for loved ones that work fabulously as home decor. The actual book folding patterns were once difficult to find - until now! Simply add your images, shapes, and loved ones' names into the Book Art Pattern Maker, and generate a pattern in seconds. All of your patterns are stored conveniently in your iCloud across all devices for easy access. With the Book Art app, it's easier than ever to create Measure, Mark, Fold patterns, Cut & Fold patterns, Combi patterns, and Shadow Fold patterns.

For beginners, Measure, Mark, Fold patterns work best with solid images and shapes that aren't overly detailed; hearts and names are perfect! Advanced Book Artists will be eager to try the Cut & Fold option. Check the preview to make sure the pattern was generated appropriately. Then follow the instructions: measure the distance from the top of the page and mark the respective 'start mark' and 'end mark.' You may use inches or centimeters, just stay consistent with whichever unit you used to generate the pattern. Then at each mark, make your creases and fold the corners of the page inward. Then - that's it! Keep folding until you reach the end of the pattern. One of the most enjoyable feelings is watching the pattern take shape, page by page.

### **--- "Update is painful to use"
I’ve used this app for years and loved it, but the most recent update is extremely hard to learn, there is absolutely no info on how to do anything and I cannot access all of my past designs. I wish there were a tutorial or some way to learn rather than frustrating trial and error. The Facebook group started by the developer hasn’t been updated in years and the support page links to the developer’s sales site only.

I have been using this app since it launched years ago. I started a new pattern yesterday, and today the app updates and everything I had saved is gone. Can’t access it in iCloud either. Tried remaking the pattern so I could continue with my book, but it’s all different measurements now which means I have to start over. The changes that were made are not user friendly at all. Needless to say I will be deleting this app and going with another one.

I loved this app until today! I open the app, it shows my patterns, but once I tap to view the pattern- blank white screen.
My phone just did a software update last night and now this app doesn’t work. I deleted and reinstalled app and same problem. Please help as I’ve lost about 40 patterns!

### ***-- "Really like but has issues"
*Edit 3 - lots of frustrating bugs at this point and no indication it will ever be updated. Although the bugs are not being fixed, there is now an option to pay $40 (!!) annually just to get it to be more functional for exporting to Excel. There is a way to print without paying but it has a ton of annoying watermarks on the page and you can’t format anything, it’s print as is pdf. It won’t cleanly convert to excel and takes a lot of effort. It’s worth the $10 fee if you make a lot of MMCF patterns, MMF don’t work as well. 

*Edit 2 - even more features have stopped working, such as simply being able to name the patterns. Developer website linked to Apple Store no longer exists which makes me think the app won’t be updated ever to fix issues. Still functional but frustrating to use. 

 *Edited - some features aren’t showing up in the app anymore, if I go into a pattern there is no way to get out without exiting the app and relaunching. Still functional, but can be frustrating to use if you have a lot of patterns.

* It’s fairly easy to use, I have had some issues with images having large gaps in the preview when I adjust the page number in increments of 20 (it seems to only really like 400 or 600 page books) but that may just be a preview viewing issue not a problem with the pattern. Being able to print them out is very helpful as well. Definitely worth the cost of the app!

I have been using this app for over a year with minor complaints. I go to use the app today and it opens the app, shows my patterns, but once I tap to view the pattern- black screen. 

No update available. Phone is up to date, deleted and reinstalled app, …. What’s the deal?????

I want to do a simple MMF pattern with letters in a block font. There are no instructions or tutorial that I can find. I finally typed out and took a picture of the word I want to make and it tells me it won’t work. I can’t just type in the word (I guess). I spent $10 on this app and can’t get any help. If it was a real product it would be a brick doorstop. I joined the Facebook group to ask for help and I notice everyone who has written a question gets zero answers including me. I’d like my money back but I can’t even get to anyone to ask for help or get a refund. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Before I had to pay $5-10 on Etsy for each and every pattern, now I make all the patterns I want! It’s super easy to make MMFs and Cut and Folds. I absolutely LOVE the ruler, I can tap a row and it highlights it so I never forget where I am!! It really makes the folding process faster. I don’t need to go looking for my patterns since they’re all saved together on the app. So awesome!!!
