I am so excited every month to select my book! And you can’t beat the price for the add-ons. App is easy to use, and has fun interactive surveys. -- emfizzle47, 2025-01-01 ### *---- "Good luck canceling" I got this because I’m an avid reader, but did not find much way of selection that I was interested in (I read sci-fi and fantasy). First, I attempted to cancel, Got a confirmation and then was still charged. I contacted them to cancel and they said they did but they would not refund the extra charge. Three months later, I am still getting emails to update my card. I had to put a stop on it through the bank because they keep trying to reactivate my account. -- Chella257, 2024-12-30 ### *---- "Poor app & book selection" If you like audiobooks, beware this app. You can’t arrange your audiobook list in anyway. So if you finish a book it stays with all the others you still have yet to read. The book does not pause when you are driving and navigation starts talking. You can’t even add audiobooks to your TBR tab, you have to list the physical books and the lists are not always the same for both mediums. If you cancel service the app will ask EVERY single time you open it if you want to renew just to get your audiobooks. You can still listen to them but you have to decline rejoining every single time. There is a section on each book page that highlights themes of the book with icons and everything, and yet the trigger warnings are at the bottom of the page so I miss them every time and I wasted money on two titles that had themes around baby loss and self harm that I never would have purchased. Half of the picks are just bad books because they are well known and repeat authors. Do not recommend. -- MusicFanatic12, 2024-12-28 ### ****- "Would like more Audiobooks features" Would really like the ability to bookmark an audiobook and would like app to be fully CarPlay integrated for audiobooks. For example, can’t open app from CarPlay , can’t need to use phone e to select book and start listening. On the plus side, once started I can advance or go back 15 seconds. Thanks! -- YahooBizUser, 2024-12-21 ### **--- "Don’t use for audiobooks" And even for physical books, I’d wait until their selection grows. My first few credits were used for physical copies, in which I got fantasy, mystery, or thrillers. All the choices felt identical to each other or re-written copies of all the popular stories floating around. Nothing that felt worth the credit. For listening? Absolutely horrible. Even on perfect internet connection, it takes forever downloading, then pauses randomly and you have to start the download all over. Then sometimes when you reopen the app, it shows an error and you have to download the title AGAIN. Want to listen in the car? I don’t suggest it. It doesn’t auto-pause during navigation like most other audio apps, and more than half the time, it starts the book over so you have to spend time trying to figure out what chapter you were in. Maybe in a few months or year, when more titles have been added and more updates to their audio portion have been done, this may be worth it -- MelanieCH_, 2024-12-09 ### *---- "Tricked- DONT DO IT! Not worth it" They trick you into having to stay for 3 months and then you only get 5 options for hard back. Which this month seems to be all thriller or mystery. You can’t even pick from former months. I’m not impressed to say the least. I would not recommend doing this and I will be canceling as soon as possible. I am eager to read the synopsis from the BOTM team, pick a book or more each month and dive into my books when that blue box comes!
