Well I was initially very skeptical as couldn’t find my usual authors but when I had another look today I’ve found them! Has the library been recently updated and new titles added?! Quite possibly! I had said before that I wouldn’t be keeping my subscription but now…well I might just keep it after all. If I can get my favourite authors the subscription is actually a bargain!
Cannot believe audiobook services want to charge you PER BOOK. I have trailed all. Amazon, audio.us and others. BeatBooks is the best offer and value for money. After free trial l just continue using it. Because l get bored easily l love switching between titles. You can also download to go offline. Addictive ! Thank you Beat Books!
However while I like that it’s affordable it really needs to be able to speed up more than 2 x i listen at 3x speed and it’s quite frustrating, also being able to see where chapters are, easily identify whose reading. It is affordable though if you do light reading like less than 20/50 hours a month! With high quality audio.
Keeps looping back to activation and payment approval but once done cannot access books. Maybe a bug but no live chat to check shame.
I used to love this app. Sure, it’s a little on the expensive side. But when I had the money spare, I would resubscribe. As I was going to today. However, the new system has rendered it useless to me. Tiered options based on listening time. With the top subscription not even being unlimited. Do you really expect me to pay £15 to feel like I can’t fall asleep listening to a book. Or leave the room because I’m wasting my own subscription. I’ll go back to kindle, thanks. At least I get to keep the books.
This app puts Audible to shame! This is the Spotify of the audio book world, absolutely love it! I never really bothered with Audible as it was one measly book for £8 a month but with this you can pick your subscription cost depending on how many hours you want to listen per month and choose from a selection of different audio books. This is how it should be! The app design is very good too. The only issue I have is, there doesn’t seem to be many books on there at the moment? But hopefully this will improve over time. It might be a deal breaker for me at the moment though, with such a limited selection of books I’m not sure I will continue after my free trial. We’ll see.

Good free trial and many books. Could be more children’s book though. Overall, very convenient, functional and generally just good!!
This used to be an amazing app but they have now introduced time restrictions to the paid membership which has basically rendered the app utterly worthless. I guess it’s fine if you want to listen to 1 book a month, but what used to be amazing value has become the most expensive and the least value of any audiobook app of all.
I am an Audible subscriber and have been for 5 years. I also have kindle unlimited which offers ‘read & listen’ books. I searched for all of the books on my wish list (of which there are many) on Bookbeat, and was only able to find 3 of them. So while I will use my free trial, I won’t be continuing the subscription as I don’t feel that for me personally it’s value for money.
