When booking my hotel room in Chester, 3 times in a row my reservation “got cancelled” because of “incorrect card details” even though I updated card for booking and yes, my card works fine. Booking is canceling your reservations before the free cancellation period- with limited to no notice!!! What happened is: i got in app bell notification today morning saying, that they think my card is not correct- I didn’t see nor act on it until 18:00 as I was at work. By the time I logged in to the app after my working hours- all in span of 7hrs there was already another notification saying that my booking and room is cancelled. I logged into Booking as I wanted to check if the reservation was still there as already it happened 2 times that Booking had cancelled my reservation for an “invalid credit card”. Of course platform is only giving contact to hotel to raise any complaints - no contact form to platform Booking.com is given. I called hotel and got information that it was Booking.com platform that has cancelled this reservation with a reason of “missing details”. I was not contacted by Booking prior to todays (7hrs ago - bell notification) and I thought something was not correct with previous 2 bookings through the platform, so deliberately I updated my card details to a different active card to secure the 3rd booking. Nothing helped as the platform just decided to cancel your stay anyways. HIGHLY UNRELIABLE PLATFORM! Also another time I had problem with the flat property listed on this platform- it was nothing like on the pictures & the house was literally tilted. Booking didn’t do anything to settle this case or return funds while they provided only the number to owner to “discuss the matter”. Eventually after my requests they asked me to provide pictures- i sent them through their chat but they claimed they cannot open and the weight of attachment is too big not giving any alternative way to pass on the documentation. Until today this case remains open with no refund!!! Double costs for stay as I needed an alternative place to stay, paying increased costs for last minute reservations in a hotel!! With Booking constantly cancelling your reservations- if you want to go through with the stress and hassle - go ahead and use Booking.com and their app to book your stays! Enjoy THE WORST AND COSTLY NIGHTMARE!
