The Boom Car Insurance app is quite basic and only allows you to view your documents and cover details. Unfortunately, it falls short in functionality as there is no option to make a claim or check the status of an existing claim, which is a major drawback. I expected the app to be fully functional, offering a comprehensive range of features to manage my insurance needs more effectively. It needs significant improvements to meet the expectations of users who want a more complete and convenient digital experience.

In order to cancel your policy they require you to do it via webchat (presumably so there is no email record).  I did this according to their instructions but then found I was billed again the following month. Also not the total costs for cancelling are £125. I would not recommend if you plan to sell your car

If you are considering this insurer I strongly advise you not to. They may be cheap but that’s because it’s all online and you cannot speak to someone over the phone only by chat. Save yourself the headache and pay a few pounds more and get an insurance company that you can call and speak to. The jokers at boom cancelled my insurance when I was only asking for a quote and was told they couldn’t reverse this they also charge £75 cancellation fee. They’re also quoting me £2k to transfer my existing policy on to another car when another insurance company charged a quarter of that. Also very limited features in the app you have always speak to a person over chat who I don’t think are from the UK.

So far the boom app has been really good.
In renewal it kept on showing something went wrong, hence why I could see what the policy was holding. Messaged and paid for my renewal however in the morning went to see all documents saw Recovery RAC is not added contact boom been told can’t add it in my first day. At least we should be able to add to subtract on our policy why is it locked? This should be looked into. There should be a cooling period.
