BoosterHub: Booster Club App

Great tool for easy communication with other parents and keeping track of booster info.

Where do I start? I’ve used a lot of bad apps in my day, but this one is one of the worst by far. The chat functionality is terrible. Perhaps it’s the Admins who don’t know how to enable better functionality, but I would hope that if they didn’t know how to do it they would’ve reached out to the dev team by now. It’s one big dumping ground of chats that is very unhelpful. The second thing is when you try to reply to a chat or make a chat it takes way longer than necessary for the chat to send. Often times I have to press it twice which then results in a double posting. In general, the entire app is very user unfriendly. The desktop site is equally as bad as the app is. I’m going to recommend to our band leadership team that they, switch from BoosterHub to something like Cheddar up.

ZERO STARS!!!! Seriously the worst app and website I have ever used. Accounting software doesn’t work as it should. App is severely limited. Website is sooooo slow and will glitch at random times and reset the page you’re on which is super frustrating if you are trying to add a calendar or volunteer event. Duplicate button? Yep, it has one but it doesn’t actually duplicate the event that you want to. You still have to go in and edit the new event with the correct dates and times. Well, most times. About 1 time out of 10 it will actually duplicate all info. When you click on a field to type in it, it will kick you out of the field and delete what you’ve typed so you have to click the field again. And then it will do it…. Again. Wanting to give something a time? You can click the arrows to change the time but don’t hesitate for longer than a millisecond. It will close the edit field and show whatever time you happened to stop on and you have to click in the time field and do it all again. Or it will just randomly close on you. Want to set up a payment plan? It will do that. But if anything needs to be adjusted after the auto pay is in effect, you can’t. It screws up the entire system either continuing to charge the invoice even if there isn’t a balance left or accounting for payments not yet made if the autopay is cancelled early. And forget editing or deleting a transaction if you’ve accidentally typed something in wrong or duplicated it. You can’t do either of those easily, or at all, in some cases. I could continue but this is getting ridiculously long. Our booster club will be finding new software when it’s time for renewal.

The chat feature does not work. The payment feature is not secured. There is no telling what this app is doing with credit card information. As far as I can tell the payment processing is handled on some website. If you overload the app, it will break and you are able to see programming code. It looks like the app was built by someone with little experience in mobile application development .

Chats won’t load and files don’t show even when marked public.

Doesn’t work. Unfortunately, this app was chosen by all my kid’s booster clubs. I can’t even see chats because they won’t load, or will load chats from years prior. Too many glitches, DON’T USE IT FOR YOUR BOOSTER CLUBS! BEWARE!

Booster Hub was unfortunately chosen by our HS marching band to communicate with families involved with the band. Both the iPhone app and the website are so slow and experience so much latency they are barely useable. Some of the other parents and I have started referring to it as “the band crap-placation”. Given how easy it is to host applications on modern technology nowadays, I honestly have no idea how they manage to make their application so slow. If you are considering using Booster Hub for your community, I suggest you show a little kindness to your members and choose something else.

BoosterHub has been very helpful for our club. We built our website with it and are able to sell things online. Customer support has been amazing.

Don’t waste your time and especially your money. This program does not work properly most of the time and we are left to contact customer service repeatedly. All the features we were sold on hardly ever work. Such a waste. Our members are constantly complaining of issues that make the job much more complex and time consuming. There are zero refunds offered and we are constantly told they are “working” on it while we are left to be the guinea pigs on a program that needs work still. Look elsewhere especially if you are an organization that has an audience Last her than one.
